Sometimes the camera gets better details then the eye, especially in low light situations. It was much darker in reality and we were walking. Darkness and motion usually don't mix well but I was pleased with the results in this image.

Talk about a dramatic exit! This is the exit ramp leaving the Budweiser Tour.. good thing we can see the light at the end of the tunnel!

However, it does make for a good picture, one of my favorite kind!

Finding the light at the end of the tunnel (yes, it helps when it's a short tunnel)

Walked through a subway in Chelmsford, got to the end and turned round to shoot what I thought would be an empty subway, the boy on the bike at the end is just a massive bonus!

#114.. A Tunnel... 115 Pictures In 2015

The tunnel is part of a long since disused railroute on the Plymouth to Clearbrooke section of the Drakes Trail which is part of National Cycle Network Route 27

the macromonday theme is "the space between"-- lighted with christmas lights this is sort of surreal. this may or may not be the second posting :)

in the quiet corridors of a senior care home, this photograph captures a profound sense of solitude. the empty armchair, bathed in soft light seeping through distant blinds, sits at the end of a shadowed hallway, embodying the finality of life’s journey. the contrast between light and dark emphasizes the isolation, with the light symbolizing hope or perhaps an unreachable peace. it’s a stark, emotional portrayal of the end-of-life reality, where time seems to have paused.

The only way to discover the limits of the possible is to go beyond them into the impossible.

One of the tunnels that shoppers can access in the Nobb Hill section of Albuquerque. I shop here and often go inside to get out of the sun. These are basically shortcuts from Carlisle to Silver SE. Some of these tunnels have ramps as well so you can push your shopping cart up them. It's a great idea and surely makes shopping a lot easier.

This shot comes from some exploring I did near the GG Bridge. This is inside a ammunition's bunker looking out. I love brick structures, and this one being of the old and used category just added to the look of this tunnel.

There is no added light to this shot. It is a multiple exposure with various masks to bring out all the detail including the overblown out grounds just outside of this bunker entrance. Really liked the repeating lines of the bricks as well as the circular nature to this tunnel. The spider web near the top was an added bonus. Do you like this shot?

a self-portrait where the shadows and my jacket are playing tricks with my girth......photography can alter things in either direction, it seems.......

or maybe I just ate too much turkey and oyster/sausage stuffing and sweet fingerling potatoes and apple pie......

either way, it is time to stop and reassess things.......and get to the gym more often!

Couldnt wait to upload this. Not a typical ivory image but I love it nevertheless or maybe because of that. Please take a look at this one too. I discovered a nice building yesterday and I think I will go shooting there again.

A hard bonk leads to very few photo options from an early season ride on the Glacial Drumlin State Trail, while I made it to Lake Mills I had to hit the breaks and take a ride back from the trailhead in Cottage Grove.

throwback thursday, scans from the archives.

the belmont tunnel was LA's first subway, part of the pacific electric "red car" trolley system which was shut down in the 1950s. the red cars ran all over socal - one could ride the trolley from venice beach to san bernardino.

for decades, the abandoned belmont tunnel in downtown los angeles was a mecca for the LA graffiti/mural scene, with stunning artwork getting up on a regular basis.

in the name of progress, the area was bulldozed in 2007 to build condos. the tunnel is now sealed shut and inacessible.

****This frame was chosen on June 10th 2014 to appear on FLICKR EXPLORE (Highest Ranking: #392. This is my Forty sixth photograph to be selected, which for me is both amazing and exciting, as I never view my images as worthy compared to some of the awesome photography out there. EXPLORE is Flickr's way of showcasing the most interesting photos within a given point in time -- usually over a 24 hour period.

Flickr receives about 6,000 uploads every minute -- That's about 8.6 million photos a day! From this huge group of images, the Flickr Interestingness algorithm chooses only 500 images to showcase for each 24-hour period. That's only one image in every 17,000!..... so I am really thrilled to have a frame picked and most grateful to everyone who visited, favourite and commented on the frame*****

Photograph taken at an altitude of One hundred and two metres, 12:17pm on Thursday 12th September 2013 off the A84 at Ardvorlich where Ardvorlich Burn filters beneath this low stone bridge and onto the shoreline of Loch Earn (Loch Eire/Loch Eireann).

For this series of frames, I had to clamber inside the very low bridge arch on my backside until I was lying down with the camera lens peeking through my splayed feet. Wet jeans, but worth it for the angle and perspective.

Loch Earn (also known as Loch of Ireland), is a freshwater loch situated in the Central Highlands of Scotland in the districts of Perth and Kinross, and Stirling, approximately ten and a half kilometres in length and 1.2km wide, with a depth of around 87 metres.
