A creative mind can spot things that others not see or not see in the first place or time watching at things for the first time. When I composed this shot I saw a lift off moment of a rocket looking down from below the thrusters, In other minds it's just a shot of two building :) I just love creativity and architecture. This photo shows 'Lift 109', a glass domed lift that rises through the middle of the north west chimney of Battersea power station.
This gives stunning 360° views of London.
It is called lift 109,because it is 109m to the top of the chimney.
It had only been open to the public for six weeks when this was taken.
As you can see, on this day, it was also offering good views of the Moon too!

Ich könnte mir vorstellen, dieser Flugkünstler würde einen frischen Fisch nicht ablehnen.
Where are the fish?
I caught this Striated Thornbill by accident just as it lifted off from the bird bath. I like the prevailing blur of movement and how it contrasts with the edge of the bath and the sharp reflection of its right foot.

The supermoon shines brightly over the Portage Lake Lift Bridge at the very beginning of the Total Lunar Eclipse on September 27, 2015. The historic bridge spans the Keweenaw Waterway between the cities of Houghton and Hancock in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
Picture taken in the Reina Sofia museum (Madrid). The two glass lift towers have been designed by Ian Richie Architects. Great inteplay between structural glass, heritage and reflections.
So lift me up

The aerial lift bridge at Duluth, Minnesota, USA looking east with Lake Superior in the bg.
An icon of Duluth, this aerial lift bridge is the gateway to the Duluth harbor on Lake Superior and dates back to 1905. The structure originally operated as a transporter bridge (basically a suspended ferry), but was converted to an aerial lift bridge in 1930. It has a span of about 500 feet and a clear height for ships of about 138 ft. The bridge was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 22, 1973.
Lake Superior is amazing and is aptly named. Lake Superior contains 10% of all planet Earth's fresh surface water. It covers 82,000 sq km (31,700 sq mi) with an average depth of 147 metres or 483 feet. The deepest point in the lake is 405 metres or 1,333 feet. It contains more water than all of the other Great Lakes combined. There is enough water in Lake Superior to cover all of the land area of North AND South America with water one foot deep. The maximum wave ever recorded on Lake Superior was 9.45 metres or 31 feet high. If all water were drained from the North American continent, the low point of Lake Superior would be the lowest point of land on the continent.
