Last year we did manage to travel a lot as I had many pending holidays from 2020 that I needed to consume in 2021. So instead of seating home we visited different places and Maldives being one of them. What a place! Particularly this place Ayada Maldives was exotic and expensive. For someone like us it is more of once if a lifetime stuff; so we grabbed the opportunity and utilized our time there as much as possible.
On this day the sky started becoming very interesting and we were actually going to the other side to capture the sunset. But I liked the setting and make a quick setup to capture this image. I had the intuition, but finally when I saw that behind the camera, I immediately understood that I did capture something pretty interesting!
I have also captured a pretty detailed video of our trip to Maldives. You can find that here.
Please have a look at my website www.avisekhphotography.com for all my recent works.
Have a nice weekend.
Hope you will enjoy the picture.
Any suggestions or criticisms are always welcome.

The Lindeman Islands are a group of islands off the coast of Queensland, Australia. The Lindeman Group of islands is located at 20°27′S, 149°04′E. Situated within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park the Islands are part of the greater Whitsunday Islands. Whitsunday Islands are full of tourist activities. Suba diving, snorkeling, sailboat trips, plus a lot more. It is a wonderful place to go and escape from the rest of the world. -Wikipedia
a once in a lifetime trip to the great barrier reef with a rest stop on this island to learn the basics of scuba.
Written on the body is a secret code only visible in certain lights: the accumulations of a lifetime gather there. In places the palimpsest is so heavily worked that the letters feel like Braille. I like to keep my body rolled up away from prying eyes, never unfold too much, or tell the whole story. I didn't know that Louise would have reading hands. She has translated me into her own book

Came across this veteran delivery truck at an antique power show. It was built in 1918 and somehow got stuffed into an old barn many years ago and remained there in virtual obscurity until recently rediscovered. The truck abounds with charm and character, elegance, even a sense of nobility. What caught my eye is the way the patina of age has been preserved. The thing was cleaned up a bit, but no attempt has been made to restore it, remove the rust, or paint it. Hope they leave it just as it is.
View from Sydney Opera House 2024. We had planned our trip to Australia to include this glorious new year's eve night in Sydney. The city is extremely well planned with many routes closed to diminish congestion around the bridge.
Space was at a premium with folks lining up in designated areas from early am to hold their spot. After reviewing the price lists of 'reserved' spots with prices in the 100's we decided to go first class and watch the event from the opera house at a cost ($1000) but a once in a lifetime event. The hotel we stayed at was only two blocks away - a 15 minute walk - but with all the closures and detours wound up taking us over an hour. Also at a premium are hotels on Dec 31 - I booked a year in advance - you need to stay a minimum of 3 nights and prices jacked up double.
I awoke later than usual, probably because of the clocks changing on Sunday. Taken at 7:30 AM from my living room in Toronto.
One year ago today, I got off a plane in Spokane, Washington and began the train nerd trip of a lifetime. We hit Spokane, Sand Point, Missoula and the BNSF Hi-Line during an action packed week fueled by coffee, country music, resilience and whiskey. To be successful requires a lot from the photographer, but also a lot from the railroad, and mother nature. One of the absolute highlights for me remains this shot, eastbound along the flathead, at Perma. The rugged mountain terrain was in full display as Montana Rail Links Day Gas rolled east along the flathead. What we didn't know then is that MRLs lease with BNSF would be terminated early, and sooner rather than later MRL would be a distant memory. Montana is still on my mind, all these months later, and I fully plan on returning to the glory of the American west in the very near future.

After a lifetime of observing the creatures that live by the sea, there is no doubt in my mind that to a certain degree at least, the health of the beachside ecosystem has Soldier Crabs as one barometer. These hard shelled, blue crabs, the size of a big marble swam about in large choreographed numbers and a prodigious diggers. If disturbed they will dig into the sand in a second or two. This was only a fraction of the number that were plying about on the sand at North Bribie Island on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.
In large numbers and if it's quiet you can actually hear them marching!
Here's the link. I have been fascinated since I was a young child.

as a throw away society we in the West have created a way of life not altogether successful or necessary
This is the case of man-made Androids having reached the end of their usefulness & being cast away to be broken down into spare parts....
Having given the Androids limited intelligence to suit us humans during their short lifetimes we thought no more about them & moved on to supposedly better things
These old Androids have manged to get themselves moving & are heading back to supposed civilization to settle a few scores
thanks for having a look....appreciated....best bigger.......hope you have a Great Day
A visit to London will undoubtedly feed your mind and soul. It is impossible to leave London and not be inspired, tired, or challenged. London's effect on you are great. She seeps into every part of your being without you noticing.
A visit to London is like a love affair that never really ends. The city is always on your mind. You crave her and everything London offers long after you leave. You miss the sounds of London, the rumble of the London Underground, and navigating the crowded streets. Crossing over London Bridges remains in your memory. Iconic places such as St Paul's Cathedral or Trafalgar Square stay etched in your mind. Maybe the views from Waterloo Bridge or the wide spans view of London from Primrose Hill are still in your mind when you close your eyes.
You'll always remember London.
My affair with London began more than thirty years ago. The city has made a huge impact on me. I often like to say - "Everything I've Learned About Life I Learned From London."
My love of live theatre began in London when I saw "Daisy Pulls It Off" at the Globe Theatre, which is now the Gielguld Theatre. I saw magic when the curtain went up and I was captivated until the finals bows and the curtain came down. Even today I attend live theatre performances like most people see movies. Theatre taught me a bit about being dramatic and I use the lessons I learned in my photography. Funny that.

Something very different from my recent stuff but had a trip to a market in Hackney that I enjoyed immensely.
Day 3652 Y10D364
This is it, this is day 3652, 10 years of daily Lego photos. I was 34 when I started this on February 25, 2011, my son was only 3 months old. Now I’m 44 and he is 10. It been tedious, boring, thought provoking, problem solving, idea storming and fun all at the same and different times. I have appreciated all the likes, follows and the interactions that have come of this project. It has become part of my daily routine, part of my life and has led me to see the world in a different way. My photography has changed and improved, as has my thought process.
Where do I go from here? I’m not sure. For now, keep following me here and on Instagram at kevinmboots77
This isn’t good bye, this is until we see each other again.

When it's getting dark and you rushing away with your homies to the resort to fight some beers, suddenly a late train arrives, which failed a few hours ago, and now bravely breaks through the harsh bushes in Żuławy. The crew is so well trained, that it's enough to throw a short "get off" in the air and you can already crouch with the camera to get your photos of a lifetime.

Totality....
The clouds completely obscured the most talked about celestial event of my lifetime, I had never witnessed a total solar eclipse and this was the opportunity of a lifetime for me.
The disappointment was palpable and I was a little saddened as I knew I may never have this opportunity to photograph it again.
It got very dark vary fast, the birds were acting oddly and some of them seemed confused as to what was happening. I noticed this robin who flew directly over our heads and landed in a tree just behind us I took this shot of him.
Thank you for visiting for marking my photo as a favourite and for the kind comments,

I've been away for much of the summer, leading workshops, playing in music festivals, and a trip to England in between. I met some really great clients this season, and made some great new friends. Just really great people all around. Both Zack Schnepf and I were leading workshops in the Palouse last spring, and we had the extreme pleasure of watching this fog roll in. Shortly after this shot, the entire Palouse was shrouded in fog. Quite a site to witness, and I'm pretty sure that was a once in a lifetime experience. Zack posted a really sweet shot a while back, and here is my rendition. Comments are very welcome as usual. Hope you all had/are having a great summer. Chip
Due to more strict enforcement of their rules, Flickr has asked me and many others to take down info such as links to personal websites and workshop information. However, it is still allowed to have such information in one's Flickr Profile.
Who will you find in every lifetime? This is the last photo I took at Burning Man in 2018. You probably won’t believe me, but I had a transcendent vision of this four nights prior, two days before I even discovered this place. If I were to try to describe either what I saw or how I was in a state to envision it, you would probably think I am crazy. But I told my roommates the next morning what I saw, and then I emailed them this photo a few days later and they were like HOLY CRAP. If I ever meet you in person, I can try to describe the whole experience. I’m not sure I can, but I know it was real.

If Ever You're In My Arms Again
Peabo Bryson
If Ever You're In My Arms Again - Peabo Bryson
It all came so easy
All the loving you gave me
The feelings we shared
And I still can remember
How your touch was so tender
It told me you cared
We had a once in a lifetime
But I just couldn't see
Until it was gone
A second once in a lifetime
May be too much to ask
But I swear from now on
Chorus:
If ever you're in my arms again
This time I'll love you much better
If ever you're in my arms again
This time I'll hold you forever
This time we'll never end
Now I'm seen clearly
How I still need you near me
I still love you so
There's something between us
That won't ever leave us
There's no letting go
We had a once in a lifetime
But I just didn't know it
Till my life fell apart
A second once in a lifetime
Isn't too much to ask
'Cause I swear from the heart
Chorus
Never end
The best of romances
Deserve second chances
I'll get to you somehow
'Cause I promise now
Repeat chorus to fade
A lifelong promise to keep, a lifetime companion to have. Let's walk together into a prosperous year of 2013! (: HAPPY NEW YEAR:)
I remember once a long time ago when I used to take photographs that weren't taken at Stupid O'Clock in the morning, and were subjects other than landscapes... feels like another lifetime..
This building depicts something from several lifetimes ago too - Kirby Hall, in Northamptonshire. Originally built in the late 1500's and modified and refitted over the next 200 years or so, the building then gradually fell into disrepair. Eventually much of value was sold to pay off family debts, and the site became uninhabited in the late 1800's. Nowadays, most of the buildings are roofless and empty, but some intact rooms and windows survive. Parts of the gardens have also been re-landscaped, making the whole site an attractive and historically interesting destination.
We visited on a sunny October afternoon, and shooting the North end of the building resulted in some deep blue shadows, which added a more brooding, dark feel to the majestic ruins.

In A Lifetime
Clannad, Bono
Hard to tell or recognise
A sign to see me through
A warning sign
First the thunder
Satisfied, if the past it will not lie
Then the storm
Torn asunder
The future you and I get blown away
In the storm
In a lifetime
And as the rain it falls
Begin again,
Heavy in my heart
As the storm breaks through
Believe the light in you
So the light shines in you
Without color, faded and worn
Torn asunder in the storm
Shot this morning South Of Goulburn.
Myself and my mate are on a bit of a mission to shoot as many of these old character filled buildings around Australia as we can, before they succumb to either the weather or human destruction.
Hope you like "In A Lifetime"
