Riomaggiore is a village in the province of La Spezia, situated in a small valley in the Liguria region of Italy. It is the first of awesome Cinque Terre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I took this picture during a short thunderstorm, when the dark clouds were full of rain and the sea was very rough.

Millikin Place is a private street on the near west side of Decatur. Of the seven homes on Millikin Place, three are considered Prairie School architectural masterpieces. This view shows the Robert Mueller House and Garage at 1 Millikin Place. Built in 1909-10, the home was that of Robert Mueller, a partner in the Mueller Company who was very active in civic and social affairs.
Architect Frank Lloyd Wright was given the commission for the Mueller House, but the project was taken on by Marion Mahony, Wright's protege and chief designer who, in 1898, passed a licensing examination to become the first licensed female architect in the United States. For nearly 15 years, off and on, Mahony worked with Wright, designing her own buildings and producing drawings of Wright designs that helped establish his reputation. Hermann von Holst of Wright's design group also is credited for his work on the Mueller House.
It was while working on the Millikin Place Prairie School homes that Mahony met landscaper Walter Griffin. Collaboration led to marriage, where the two went on to win a commission to design the city of Canberra, the capital of Australia.
Decatur is the seat of Macon County. The city was founded in 1829 and is situated along the Sangamon River and Lake Decatur in central Illinois. Decatur has an economy based on industrial and agricultural commodity processing and production. The city is home of private Millikin University and public Richland Community College.
Decatur's estimated population for 2019 was 70,746, making Decatur the thirteenth-most populous city in Illinois, and the state's sixth-most populous city outside the Chicago metropolitan area.
Pulling into the parking lot at our doctor's office, I saw this cute black lab patiently sitting in the driver's seat of the car opposite me and intently watching the building entrance. It was a cloudy day in August, and due to tinted windshields, low light, and my rushing to an appointment, even my iPhone 13 couldn't get a good image. But, as so often happens, poor images make for fun sliding. So - here is Mr. or Ms. Black Lab, in a significantly transformed scene for Sunday.
I started with the PSE winters filter, which turned things mostly monochrome and a lot lighter. I then used several Jixipix filters: spektrel and portrait painter, to get the swirled look to the trees; saturated the green a bit in iMac photos; back to Jixipix for artista sketch and finally snow daze. I tried to put the original in the first comment box, but that doesn't usually work for me, so...

The Ship Inn nestled in the background of my photo dates back to 1567 when it was a customs house, before becoming a licensed hostelry in 1754. It was often visited by the young Scottish poet, Robert Burns, who lived in Irvine around 1781. Today it is modernised gastro-pub, famous for it’s steak pies.

This large salamander was the only representative of its species found after half an hour of flipping artificial and natural cover along a wooded, rocky hillside adjacent to a vernal pool. It appeared to have emerged from a burrow leading into the hillside underneath a large log near the top. Also observed were eggs from other ringed salamanders under logs and concrete on the hillside itself, which was unusual.

Had the chance to finally get to visit the well known Ice caves in south Iceland.
I was expecting waterfalls, giant caves but it's just the beginning of the season for ice caving and right now the big caves are not really secure places to go...
Then, we still had the luck, in the middle of a giant storm, to visit the small but beautiful northern lights ice cave...
such lights, reflections, colours, harmony in this space!
If you visit Iceland in winter, I warmly recommend you to visit these caves in south iceland area close to the famous glacier lagoon Jökulsárlón, and don't hesitate to take the photographer's tour, longer and made for taking pictures!
The whole set of photographs is there on my Behance Portfolio: Northern lights ice cave
