Pitmuies Garden in Angus is a real delight and well off the normal tourist trail. I really love it. The garden has a lot to offer. There's a good formal garden, excellent herbacious borders, a riverside walk, a large pond, good established woodland and some lovely old buildings.

A great old shop front in Olhão.
"Analises Químicas e Productus Esteriladus" Translates as "Chemical Analysis & Sterilised Products" and "Produtos Químicos e Farmacêuticos" Translates as "Chemical Products & Pharmaceuticals".

On a wet and miserable morning, a little creative licence to help pass the time and it's amazing what can be created. I feel sure they each had a fishing licence.
James Bond in Schwaben - die relativ saubere Werbelokomotive 193 556-8 "With the licence to rail" in Diensten von TX Logistik hatte konnte am 5. März bei Langweid am lech fotografiert werden. Farblich bildete der Zug einen maximalen Kontrast zur tristen spätwinterlichen Landschaft. Der aus fabrikneuen Aufliegern und Zugmaschinen bestehende Zug (DGS 43853) startet in Rheine und wird letztlich in Puccio Rusco enden.
James Bond in Swabia - the relatively clean advertising locomotive 193 556-8 "With the license to rail" in the service of TX Logistik was photographed on 5th March near Langweid/Lech. In terms of colour, the train provided a maximum contrast to the dreary, late-winter landscape. The train (DGS 43853), consisting of brand-new trailers and trucks, starts in Rheine and will ultimately end in Puccio Rusco.

Taken Bourne, Lincolnshire. These are two of five Sparrowhawk chicks being fed by the female parent bird. Photographed under schedule one licence with Wildlife Photography Hides using a 40' tree hide.
Two of the four chicks to come out of this box. All ringed, weighed and measured, admired and photographed. The chick on the right was the youngest and judging by its dark face a ruff is probably a female. All birds ringed under Schedule 1 Licence by qualified ringers and in a box which is part of the Falkirk Council Barn Owl Box Scheme. We’ve had a good season, with 36 chicks ringed, our second highest total

Tekapo stars. Clicking the shutter button is simple .... after that it gets complicated. This is a merge of two exposures, at different shutter speeds and the resulting varying star tracks make the join obvious.

Ringed under licence today as part of a woodland monitoring project near Linlithgow. This one is due to fledge in about 3-4 days. As you can see the characteristic curved bill is not yet fully grown. We can only ring Treecreeper young if they are in a special nestbox as wild nests are generally inaccessible without damage. Fortunately they take quite readily to nestboxes.
