This is one of my favorite quotes from the great Don Draper of Mad Men. The full quote goes like this:
"The reason you haven’t felt it is because it doesn’t exist. What you call love was invented by guys like me, to sell nylons. You’re born alone and you die alone and this world just drops a bunch of rules on top of you to make you forget those facts. But I never forget. I’m living like there’s no tomorrow, because there isn’t one."
Biggy Smalls was an icon throughout my childhood. I’ve always loved the lyrics and flow of “Juicy” and this is one of my favorite lines. RIP Smalls.
This piece can now be purchased as a T-shirt at Brooklyn Industries. It came out great, check it out: www.brooklynindustries.com/graphic-t-shirts-mens-new/tape...
I’ve been listening to a lot of grunge music lately, Nirvana, The Toadies, Space Hog, Smashing Pumpkins, etc. It’s scary how nostalgic music can be… those were the good old days.
This is the third installment of Notorious B.I.G. “Juicy” project. Each Thursday there will be a new piece of this collection revealed.
Lupe Fiasco’s new album came out recently, and I can’t stop listening to it. This is a lyric from “Kick Push” on Lupe’s first album.
Biggy Smalls “Juicy” installment number 5. Every Friday I’ll be releasing a new addition to this collection.
As a kid, my homework would always fill up with doodles like this and I’d end up losing credit. Many years later, I still haven’t learned my lesson. I love how these things start out, and organically take on their own shape. It’s basically the ultimate documentation of daydreaming – which I tend to do often. The title “Citizens Of Tomorrow” was inspired by a Tokyo Police Club song pertaining to robots taking over the world. However, In true doodle fashion, this piece started in one place and ended in another.
Today is my last day at Marketing Drive, and all I can think about is how much of a privilege it has been working with such a classy & talented group of people. It’s a sad day, but also the start of something that I hope will be great. Much love to MD!
This is a lyric from the song ”Soft & Warm” by one of my favorite bands: Voxtrot. It’s funny how deeply a few words can affect you. As I grow older this line means more and more to me and has essentially become a mantra of mine. So be young in spirit, live life and feel alive while you’re doing it. Love it.

So I’ve been thinking about doing some surf related drawings for a while and I’ve decided to do a series of “Concrete Surfers” in various areas around the country that aren’t typically associated with quality surf. After all, skateboarding was invented by surfers as a means to pass time when the water was too cold. They would put wheels on their surfboards, which later evolved in to current day skate decks. There’s a great documentary on all of this called: Dogtown & Z-Boys – definitely worth a watch.
Installment #4 to the Notorious B.I.G. “Juicy” project. If there is anyone who doesn’t know who Rappin’ Duke is, youtube it… rap has come a long way.
This another part of my “Juicy” by Notorious B.I.G. project. The goal is to break down every lyrical thought in the song and eventually create a collection that forms the entire song.
I was recently reading some blog entries from the Johnny Cupcakes site and I came across a photo with this line. Johnny summed this up best, so I’ll quote him:
"I saw this simple neon sign somewhere online, and it made me smile. There needs to be more random, positive, public messages like this one. It’s interesting how one miniature phrase, piece of advice, or even a smile could alter a humans mood + thought process for the rest of their day and/or life. Withhold + pass along that PMA! Positive Mental Attitude."
