On May 25, civic leaders and elected officials gathered for a premiere of the new school lunch for Chicago Public Schools. The new menus meet and exceed the gold standard of the HealthierUS School Challenge, which Michelle Obama is urging schools to meet as part of her Let's Move campaign.

Chef Matt from Stonebridge Restaurant in Milford, CT and Chef Peter from Lindley Foods in New Haven visited severl classromms to educate students about real food through a marinara sauce they made with local vegetables at the kick-off of the New Haven Public Schools Health Heroes Social Marketing Campaign and Chefs Move to Schools.

The Princess Anne Family YMCA has been selected to oversee an exciting project called Let's Move Outside! This two year grant will allow us to work with the Department of the Interior and local groups to get more children into our public parks. This was the announcement at the Lake Lawson/Lake Smith Recreation Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

On May 25, civic leaders and elected officials gathered for a premiere of the new school lunch for Chicago Public Schools. The new menus meet and exceed the gold standard of the HealthierUS School Challenge, which Michelle Obama is urging schools to meet as part of her Let's Move campaign.

On Chef in the Classroom Day, 67 chefs fanned out across the city, bringing cooking demonstrations, veggie tastings and healthy eating lessons to Chicago school children. Chef in the Classroom Day was part of Chicago's response to First Lady Michelle

Obama’s Chefs Move to Schools initiative and was coordinated by Healthy Schools Campaign and Chicago Public Schools as part of the Go for the Gold partnership supporting schools in their efforts to meet the high standards for nutrition education, physical activity and food set by the HealthierUS School Challenge, the program the first lady is challenging schools to meet. After spending time in the classroom, chefs connected with principals to talk about ways to stay involved and support the schools' healthy eating and food education efforts.
