Taking lots of pictures at the mo to do with love as decided to use one of my photos for my husbands Valentines Day card. More to come without sweets involved.

Found while cleaning out my Grandmother's home. I assume that they were a gift from my Grandfather when he came home from Japan. I can't find a date on them anywhere.

I love Valentine's Day. Except when I'm single. Then I hate it a great deal.
Last year I was also single. (Boo) So I spent several hundred dollars sending a ton of people Valentine's flowers, candy, etc. This year, I think I'll pout.
Circle of Love
On the day that we were married I placed a ring upon your finger
I can still close my eyes and see our hands entwined as one
“With this ring, I thee wed” - the words came so easily
words filled with so much love
The day passed by so quickly as our two lives were merged to one
As the days turned into years I reflect upon the love we’ve shared
and I marvel at its strength
As I gaze upon my wedding ring I can see what love is all about
This ring is a circle that has no beginning or no end
I can look at it forever but will never see a break
Our love is just like that - continuing on forever in a circle of love
Once our lives were joined together - nothing could tear us apart
I see our family’s story in this ring upon my finger
The circle of gold reminds me of the underlying strength of our love
The gold is so strong and can never be broken -
yet it can be stretched to enlarge our circle of love
I finger the diamonds and I see them for the jewels that they are to us - our son
To the outside world it may appear to be nothing but a ring
but as for me what I see is the love of family
Today my ring might be loose upon my finger
Tomorrow it may seem to be a bit tight
What does this say about the circle of love?
The swelling of my fingers can be likened to life
Life is full of ups and downs, good and bad, problems and solutions
When things are hard - the ring is tight
When things are smooth - the ring is loose
But in the end one thing always remains true -
the circle of love still remains unbroken
You may see me often just twirling my ring upon my finger
What may appear to be fidgetting to you means so much more to me
This ring is not just a ring to me - it is my circle of love
It is my comfort in times of distress
reminding me that love endures forever
In the good times, its gold and diamonds will sparkle with brilliance
and call out to me “our love endures forever”
Its gold is a reminder that my strength doesn’t lie with me alone -
but rather together with the love of my husband -
