I used a colored pencil for a measured setup for the Christmas Tree and then used those two lines as a guide to the background. I wanted to add enough background to show that the tree is about 1 1/2 stories tall. I didn't intend to enhance the tree but I did. It is quite an odd shape in real life, wider than I've shown and then spindly on top.
I have often thought that the city Christmas tree is "lame", not very special, almost an embarrassment. But as I sat there drawing it, I realized it is as unpretentious as its surroundings. An elegant, opulent tree would look out of place in this gritty city.
Decided to eat dinner in the Aloha Stadium prior to the start of the Nevada vs. Hawaii game. No veggie sandwich this time. Was going for the steak plate (www.flickr.com/photos/100yearstolive/4953253739/), but $12!!! Settled for this kabob(?) plate @ $7. Pretty tasty, but only tickled the tummy. Held me longer than the veggie sandwich, though.

I watched a video on Utube by James Hoffmann to get better frothing technique. It was very helpful. I had the wrong idea...
It's not the foam on the top, but the fine foam below.

A lesson practicing emergency dismounts (basically falling off your horse in an emergency, always good to practice sometimes,) Also everyone is wearing some sort of Halloween thing, although most of it got taken off.
