Gracie is now 6 months old!! She weighs 35 pounds and is full of energy and very strong!! She loves to twirl in air and play fetch. She is a little strong willed so it is going to take a whole lot of patience from me to get her properly trained. Problem is she can do all the lessons perfectly but at times she rather do her own thing!!!

I can almost hear Mom pronghorn explaining to her little one the lessons of life ... stay away from humans, practice your running skills because you are going to be a marathon runner, and remeber to fluff up the white fur on your rump whenever you sense danger! (that is how they communicate danger to one another)
Smile.

THANKS for visiting.
006/365 - Saturday morning drum lessons. Today is my tutor's last day. The new shift pattern at his day job means that Simon has to put up with me in future. This is the only exercise I get these days - I don't even own a pair of trainers anymore!!
I am over using brown for some reason, and I really don't like brown. I drew this without a set up of any kind...all pen, but on something shapeless like this, I think it doesn't matter so much. I will try again with something more graphic but will use one of the suggested set ups ....like the roof assignment. Moleskine doesn't like the way I paint, but I like how it is made and haven't found anything I like better. These two purses are used only for art supplies...the small one stays in the car and the other by my chair in the den so I don't have to go running for supplies when I get the urge to paint. Pen first is my normal way of sketching, but I think I am going to go for sketching with color and adding pen last and see what happens. When I did that on my doors, I really liked it...
There are lessons to be learned from watching wildlife.
Perseverance, alertness and the battle for life marks nearly every individual creature.
Temporary defeats normally lead to upcoming successes.

First attempt at colour developing - bit disappointing. Negs are very thin - increase development slightly from the recommended 3:15. Also uniformly covered in tiny white spots. It's not dust. Various sources suggest this can happen with hard water, but I don't think ours is.
30 minutes of walking around in the woods, we found a small clean spot where i could take a few shots. We all got the cold after that haha.
Anyways, have a great day people of Flickr! :)
What says summer fun more to a kid than violin lessons? Aww...I wanted to go to math camp this year!
... the activities of his brother Linus who has the impertinence of playing with Fynn's favourite toy mouse. Linus knows very well that mousie is off limits and he "borrows" it on purpose to provoke Fynn. It's a daily ritual and always ends with Fynn climbing down from his observation post to teach his brother a lesson. (see photo in the comments)
The Ham took this. If I'd been thinking I'd have just set the camera timer (which I haven't figured out how to set yet) and had all three of us jump.
I told her to sit while taking this (the d50 she can handle, but the d300 is a bit on the heavy side). After this jump she started getting into it and wanted to stand up, i took the camera. She took only one shot and nailed it first try at 2.8 even.

the sun sprinkled in my eye
just as it sparkled on the wheatgrass
blowing in my front yard.
the squirrels argue
maypole-ing around
the ponderosa pine.
I wonder
where does their drama lie?
round and round
trying to catch each other's tails
the sun shimmers on them too
but they are too busy to notice.
I needed to post something pretty and bright this evening to cheer me up. My old pc crashed big time today, along with a ton of recent shots. I hadn't backed up for over two weeks!
Yeah, yeah, I know! :-(
Please cross your fingers for me in the hope that those geeky guys coming tomorrow can retrieve them!
Life is like dancing
You decide if you want to live it by dancing alone, with one partner or several, as long as you dance nice, happy and with respect for the other dancers.
It has been ten years since our first dance, and I am so happy and enthusiastic about more decades of dances
Do you want to keep taking dancing lessons with me?
Happy anniversary, my love
"And on this journey may the good Lord guide us
And may the goddess dance beside us
When you wrap your arms around me
When you take me close and say
That you're so happy and so glad you've found me
You take my rainy days and make 'em go away
When you wrap your arms around me
When you take me close and say
That you're so happy and so glad you've found me
You take my rainy days and make them go away"

Today my photo concept and mental state very much collided, and I found myself remembering a valuable lesson as I sat editing my picture. I started off rough this morning preferring to stay home than to go out in the rain an hour away and shoot. Somewhere along the way I decided I had to choose happiness instead of waiting for it, since my day wasn't getting any better on its own.
As I edited this picture I saw the irony of it, the way that we must make decisions in our lives if we expect them to get better, be filled with inspiration, or any other positive effect we hope for. The small moment to moment choices we make define who we are.
Do you search for positive moments or expect them? Do you befriend hope and happiness or do you scorn them? These were the questions I had to answer for myself this morning as I trudged through the mud. By the end I had a smile on my face, but it was not without choice and commitment to my happiness. My wish for you today is that you are committed to your positive choices.
It is a fairy tale called Saiful Malook, written by the Sufi poet Mian Muhammad Bakhsh... And due to the fame of this story this lake is named as "Saiful Malook".
The story is about a Persian prince named Saif ul Malook who fell in love with a fairy named Badi ul Jamal whom he saw in his dreams. The prince thus started his journey to find his beloved fairy Badi ul Jamal. He was clueless in his restless journey until he met a Devish (holy man), who told him how he can find her. Devish also told him that he had to go through many exams before he could find and marry Badi ul Jamal, because she was a fairy and prince was human. The prince then starts his journey for the impossible in the name of his love. The rest of the story chronicles the challenges he faced during his journey and the spiritual lessons he learned on the way.

On December 19th my wife and daughters did some ziplining and rapelling at a place in Cartago Province called Explornatura and me and my son went on a hike at the same place to see what wildlife we could find. Unfortunately it had been raining all morning and although it stopped for a while when we first arrived the rain started up again while we were hiking. Luckily we were prepared with rain gear but not many animals showed themselves. These animals were seen before and after the rain.
My wife and daughters had a great time on the zip lines and saw a sloth and they highly recommend this place:
