Cub is keeping close to mom with a number of spotted hyenas and wild dogs in the area. They took to the trees several times to avoid contact with other predators.

Our third major leopard encounter was with a lovely female African leopard Panthera pardus pardus). It was nearly 7pm and the light was beginning to fade, but she was still clearly visible lying on a branch. After a while she sat up and looked out beyond our vehicles. I think dinner was on her mind. She must have seen something because she suddenly bounded down the tree to the ground, walked a bit through the grass, and then disappeared.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Amur leopard (Panthera pardus orientalis) is a leopard subspecies native to the Primorye region of southeastern Russia and northern China. It is listed as Critically Endangered on the IUCN Red List. In 2007, only 19–26 wild leopards were estimated to survive in southeastern Russia and northeastern China.[1] It is considered one of the rarest cats on Earth.[3]

As of 2015, fewer than 60 individuals were estimated to survive in Russia and China.[4] Camera-trapping surveys conducted between 2014 and 2015 revealed 92 individuals in an 8,398 km2 (3,242 sq mi) large transboundary area along the Russian-Chinese border.[5] In 2019, it was reported that the population had increased to about 90 leopards.[6]

This is one of three leopard sightings we have seen so far on our trip in Africa. I took this photograph this morning in South Africa. We tracked the leopard for about an hour and a half, and had an amazing opportunity to see the leopard walking on the ground and then going up into a tree, where it sat nicely for us to get a "glamour shot." The leopard is absolutely beautiful.

Wild leopard in the wild relieving himself less than 5 meters away from my open car window. I could smell the stool.

About 20 minutes from the gate on the last day of our safari we finally sighted a leopard. After watching him observing an antelope crossing the track, our driver said we needed to go to avoid having to pay for another day in the park. He turned the key and nothing happened. After a nervous few minutes he was able to instruct us how to access the battery by removing the floor. All the movement was very interesting for the leopard who seemed to be hoping someone would step out to push the van. We did get it started and got to the gate, only 5 minutes late.

It took six hours driving round before I spotted this Leopard the only one I had seen in the wild Great rejoicing
