Leon cathedral is a quite magnificent building dating back over 800 years. It is rather hemmed in by other buildings but i liked this angle in the early morning sun.

Saint-Léon-le-Grand Church is a Catholic religious building located in the heart of the village of Saint-Léon-le-Grand in Quebec (Canada).
It was built between 1819 and 1824 and was enlarged in 1914. The church was cited as a heritage building by the municipality of the parish of Saint-Léon-le-Grand in 1999 and was classified as a heritage building in 2011 by the Ministry of Culture and Communications.
L'église Saint-Léon-le-Grand est un édifice religieux catholique situé au cœur du village de Saint-Léon-le-Grand au Québec (Canada).
Elle a été construite entre 1819 et 1824 et a été agrandie en 1914. L'église a été citée immeuble patrimonial par la municipalité de la paroisse de Saint-Léon-le-Grand en 1999 et été classée immeuble patrimonial en 2011 par le ministère de la Culture et des Communications.
En el noroeste de España, es la capital de la provincia homónima, parte de la región de Castilla y León. Su historia se remonta a la época Celta y es conocida por su arquitectura ornamental de arenisca. La Universidad de Salamanca se fundó en el siglo XII y fue un centro intelectual clave en los siglos XV y XVI, en la actualidad sigue aportando a la vitalidad de la ciudad con su población de estudiantes internacionales.
Su centro histórico fue declarado patrimonio de la Humanidad por la Unesco. Cuenta con un importante patrimonio histórico – arquitectónico, entre el que destacan sus dos catedrales, la Casa de las Conchas, la Universidad Pontificia, la Plaza Mayor, el Convento de San Esteban y las Escuelas Mayores.

Interior de la Catedral de la Asunción de la Virgen, llamada popularmente Catedral Nueva es, junto a la Catedral Vieja, una de las dos catedrales de la ciudad de Salamanca y es la sede de la diócesis. Fue construida entre los siglos XVI y XVIII mezclando los estilos gótico tardío, renacentista y barroco. Es una de las catedrales más grandes de España en dimensiones y su campanario, con 92 metros de altura, también es de los más altos.
León Cathedral is mostly known for taking the “dematerialization” of gothic art to the extreme, that is, the reduction of the walls to their minimum expression to be replaced by stained glass, constituting one of the largest collections of medieval stained glass in the world.

Steeped in centuries of history, León was founded in the first century AD as a Roman encampment. The town's name evolved from a reference to its title as the Seventh Roman Legion. Besides a brief stint under the Moorish rule of Al-Mansur in the 10th century, León's heyday was in the 10th to 12th centuries when it was capital of the Kingdom of León. During this medieval period, León was an important stop on the Way of Saint James for pilgrims traveling to Santiago de Compostela. The monastery where the pilgrims stayed has been converted into a luxurious Parador hotel. Other remarkable monuments include the 11th-century Collegiate Church of Saint Isidore and the magnificent Gothic cathedral with its spectacular stained-glass windows. León is famous for its regional gastronomy, and hidden among the city's charming cobblestone streets are lively little tapas restaurants that serve delicacies such as cured meats and croquettes.
