I remember seeing an image of this island on my computer desktop, (operated on window7). I, insanely, fall in love with this place, and dreamed of getting there. Did not know what it was and were… This mysterious (to me) place is one of the famous iconic landmarks in Canada. A tiny island, slightly attached to the land, on Maligne Lake, Jasper Natioanl Park, is called Spirit Island. Getting there is tricky. You have two options: easy one, by tour boat (and spend 20 minutes on shore), or hard one, by canoe/kayak (and have the whole island to yourself). What did we choose? It is coming up next.

This shot at sunrise actually needs some closer contemplation. The road on the left going uphill to the dark is the difficult path to take. The road that leads straight and downhill, via Foley's pub to the light is the easy way out. Escape via the gate leads to the Bull and eventually through the graveyard. The lensflare with rainbow indicates "return to Dingle" is just Wilma's wishfull thinking :)
Rework of an image originally uploaded 8 years ago, which is now deleted.
After spending the night at Bristol Temple Meads snapping trains, I decided for a change of scene and took the local unit out to Severn Tunnel Junction.
After what had been a cold night, the early morning sun was welcome and, while basking in it trying to keep warm, it was hard to ignore the scene above and particularly the picturesque glint off the rails. Hence the shot.
Taken pretty well straight into the sun on a wing and a prayer regards exposure, thankfully I decided to bracket a few attempts, got lucky, and managed to get a keeper. The purist may not like the bit of flare around the signal but it appeals to me, so I left it in.

This photo was taken back in 2011 when I first started getting interested in photography. Just a simple snapshot I took of my daughter on our walk to school one morning. I LOVE magical moments like these. ✨✨✨
i dont know realy why, but this lensflare heve something, i dont wanted to delete it instead i use it for the picture :)

just in time. now i shall sleep.
revised with d+j today and it was lovely. went out on my bike and then seen some friends i haven't seen in ages and chatted for a little while. i stood on nettles and seen pheasants and horses. it was so pretty.
