I think I need a treat after finishing all the challenges.
A glass of wine, lemon mousse and a choice of Baklava. (won't eat too many of them though)

We have a culinary college nearby and they sell food, bread and cookies made by students. Good and not too expensive. Their buns are just like homemade ones.

I had to use private health care system yesterday and today and it's so expensive I need to use my special savings to pay for it. Being so I'm not adding these sums to my project.

All of these were on 'special offer'. I try to buy low fat food when possible. I know bacon isn't particularly low fat, but I never use very much in a meal so the total calorie count is not too high. Wonderful Husband eats bacon and ham but not pork chops or roast pork.
Venison sausages have the lowest fat of all the varieties I can buy.
Most low calories desserts taste funny (to me) but my son likes Marks & Spencer lemon mousse.
A few days ago one of my sons, who loves to cook, took out the Barefoot Contessa cookbook and wanted to make the lemon mousse. We didn't have any heavy cream then or enough eggs. Today, however, was all about cooking. First we made this scrumptious dessert and then my other son and I made peanut butter brownie ice cream (which we'd also been planning for a long time). Can you tell that we like to eat?

Lunch: 30g Special K cereal and125ml semi skimmed milk
Snack in car (I was famished) Special K bar (because we had them in the car)
Dinner: Marks & Spencer (Cook! range) Orkney Crab Cakes with lemon & paprika mayonnaise, 30g of (burnt) M&S parmentier potatoes and 250g runner beans.
Dessert: M&S COU (Count On Us) lemon mousse (80kcals)
Supper: four pineapple rings in natural juice.

Tasty pastry and spruced up mousse. And coffee. The lemon mousse was a bit tart for my liking but the mille-feuille was delicious. I like lounging about in cafes.
Following Sandy's beautiful photos of food, I started to think about how much money I spend on food. To my embarassment, I don't even know how much many items cost, but I do know that I could probably spend less and still eat well.
Today I spent £37.58 ($61.48 or 43.06 Euro) on the food shown, plus a bottle of bathroom cleaner and a tin of tuna.
I am posting all the individual photos, with details of what I bought in case anybody is interested!
Approx. 6 X 6 inches lemon Mousse topped with lemon jelly and chocolate. Used Organic lemon for flavouring. Full of Vitamine C in it!

When I was growing up, my father would bring home a treat on Friday night--something small, like some licorice or a comic book. I do not know how the tradition began. Last year I was in a bad way, someone suggested that I pick up some small treat on Friday to celebrate finishing the week. And who am I to argue with this tradition?
