I have a lot of friends on both sides of the political aisle. My gut tells me that many Americans are quite disgusted and worn out with all of the politicians in Washington, DC. I think intrinsically people realize that DC politicians are owned by very rich and powerful interests. It's never been clearer that what is best for America, what is best for the average person, what is best for our children, what is best for our elderly, our poor, our sick, and what is best for humanity in general, is of little concern to DC politicians. I think most Americans realize the rich are so powerful they can demand tax breaks and legislation that will make them richer and the politicians will give them their wish.
But when Americans see our educational system being threatened and taken over by politicians, overt threats being made by politicians, our healthcare being ransacked, our poorest people being trodden upon, the weight is becoming too much.
When I saw this man, with the weight of the world seemingly bearing down on him, I thought of all these things. I thought of all the people I care about, Republicans and Democrats, the regular ones -- and I know that as a nation, we can be so much more than what we are showing the world now.

Is It Real, or Memorex?
The baby-boomer generation will remember the saying "is it real, or Memorex?". Memorex advertised their cassette tapes were so good you couldn't tell if the music was live or if it was recorded. It was a touch of advertising genius.
Photographers have long used the reflections of a storefront window to create surreal photographs. The viewer has to sort out what is real and what is reflection and reality becomes blurred. In this barber shop photograph, the "floating" pump bottle of Purell became a magical element.
What is real and what isn't real has become a blur in more ways than surreal photographs. It is a part of daily life on social media. Facebook is full of AI generated stories that are written to sound completely true, yet they are 100% bogus. It is amazing to observe the comments below these bogus posts, because it illustrates how completely gullible and easily duped most Facebook users are.
Politicians learned this quickly and people worldwide are fed bogus information that will benefit the political entity creating the false information. These politicians realize that by simply flooding the media with their manipulative messages they can move their supporters like puppets -- because most people can't discern the truth from a lie and are simply either too ignorant or unwilling to search for the truth.
In case you've read this far: this photograph is surreal -- but the words are true, not fake or AI generated, with an intent to deceive you.

captured in the early morning hours at hotel sonnwies in südtirol, this photograph is a study in simplicity and calm. with its crisp lines and gentle reflections, it transforms an ordinary pool into a space of quiet contemplation. the straight-edge railing slices through the frame, creating a sense of infinite depth and balance, while the stillness of the water evokes a moment of serene introspection. shot with the leica m11 monochrom and 50mm summilux f/1.4 asph, the image celebrates the beauty of minimalism in black and white, where every detail whispers rather than shouts.
