Made for Wandering Skies 2024, category Seasonal Bliss.

The lighthouse island integrates the vignette made for the fig and a vig category and continues the story of last year’s entry, the pilot.

Storytelling:

The pilot served the military for many years, his compact flying machine was very useful for patrol and flying undetected. One day a bad storm caught him by surprise and he crashed on a small island. He was severely injured on his left arm and right leg. Nobody came looking for him, he was on his own.

He managed to survive thanks to the shelter provided by this abandoned lighthouse.

The years went by… He brought the lighthouse back to life using spare parts from the flying machine and his military past is only a memory locked in the basement.

Now he is the lighthouse keeper.

Let's continue building some LEGO Microscale Habitats!

Simple build, but with some interesting parts usage.

Maybe one the best habitats so far.

Which one is your favourite?

I will upload closed up pictures on my Instagram page.

This early 15th century 'Caraval' carries the name 'Orion Star' and is used for the transport of goods along the Mediterranean trade routes.

In 1486 Florence and Venice had widely accepted trade agreements and benefit of each others reach within the ever expanding worldwide trade routes.

Apart from creating the shape of this ship, the sails and the color scheme, the real challenge was to recreate the symbol of florence; the iconic fleur de lis.

Personally, I think this worked out pretty well 😁

_____________________________________

Some background story;

I chose this type of ship because it fits within the time frame and the characteristics of the venice laguna of that time (not deep and many sandbanks).

The caravel had a stern rudder and a raised forecastle and sterncastle. Caravels had a typical length-to-beam ratio of 3.5:1 with a shallow draught. It was also highly manoeuvrable and fast. All of these characteristics made the caravel ideal for exploring unfamiliar waters and coastal shallows where larger ships might easily have become stranded on sandbanks or damaged by rocks.

Let me know what you think and thx for stopping by 🙌

Free instructions now on Rebrickable, enjoy! (MOC no. 147152) rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-147152/ColonelCandy/a-joyful-roa...

It may be small but it took many weeks to get everything just right - the car was particularly tricky. But it was all worth it and I'm very proud of result! I'm sure you will have a lot of fun building it!

For day 4 of #Vignweek2022

I built a vignette for the Sushi Chef minifigure from the Ninjago Movie CMF series.

The chef reminded me of Hattori Hanzo from Kill Bill, so I added a collection of swords at the back of this traditional sushi restaurant.

I also added a little bonsai.

Here's my entry for the 2nd day of VignWeek 2024. The prompt is Splash of Color.

Right away I thought about the Film Noir Detective from the CMF series 25, I built a small 8x8 habitat for this minifigure some time ago, so this was the perfect prompt to expand that concept, with four time the size, I can create a complete crime scene with multiple suspects.

The victim is on the stairs and the detective seems to be focus on the odd red herring. In the background a lady is running away in her flowing red dress, with a gun in her hand. The waiter of the restaurant seems interested in the scene and has a suspicious bloody hand, a blade is also found in the trash bin. So who is guilty? After all it could even be the snake in the sewer...

Of course the highlighted color is red. The rest of the color scheme is white, black, light grey and dark grey, with a dark blue sky.

The vignette sits on a 17x17 base, excluding the black frame.

Here's the behind the scenes video: youtu.be/H6ODgI_4AI4

Here's my second entry for the 2024 Summer Joust, Into the Middle East category.

My first time building a middle eastern setting. It is not sure where the ambush will come from, other than the one on the roof, there are three more swords hidden in the build.

Hopefully the forced perspective worked well.

Interesting parts used are the dark tan large figure armor as a dome in the background, the white turban as a vase, the regular chairs in the wall of the tan building on the right, a dark azure cloth rug and the bunny ear cloth.

There are also some interesting print pieces: a 2x4 dark blue pattern from the Queer eye set, the dark turquoise from lunar new year sets, the orange tile from Ahsoka brickheadz, 1x1 printed windows from Hogwarts and, at the very back, a printed brick from King Magnifico's Castle.

Initially I made a shisha for the character on the right, but I figured it was not invented yet in medieval times, so I gave him a oud guitar.

After the white habitat I did last week, I thought it would be fun to build some more monochrome habitats. Maybe representing the 4 seasons, but it didn't go exactly as planned.
