What better way to represent temperature than a hot and cold cycle.

This early 15th century 'Caraval' carries the name 'Orion Star' and is used for the transport of goods along the Mediterranean trade routes.

In 1486 Florence and Venice had widely accepted trade agreements and benefit of each others reach within the ever expanding worldwide trade routes.

Apart from creating the shape of this ship, the sails and the color scheme, the real challenge was to recreate the symbol of florence; the iconic fleur de lis.

Personally, I think this worked out pretty well 😁

_____________________________________

Some background story;

I chose this type of ship because it fits within the time frame and the characteristics of the venice laguna of that time (not deep and many sandbanks).

The caravel had a stern rudder and a raised forecastle and sterncastle. Caravels had a typical length-to-beam ratio of 3.5:1 with a shallow draught. It was also highly manoeuvrable and fast. All of these characteristics made the caravel ideal for exploring unfamiliar waters and coastal shallows where larger ships might easily have become stranded on sandbanks or damaged by rocks.

Let me know what you think and thx for stopping by 🙌

2nd entry for round 2 of the Iron Forge 2023.

This time I went microscale.

I've used 13 tooth plates: 1 for each of the five figures, 2 for the chairs on the right, 4 for the altar and 2 for the clouds on the left window.

I'm quite happy with the look of the windows with the strings and the ice cream cloud.

Here's my second entry for the Iron Forge 2023.

The seed parts are swords.

In this build I used 11 swords.

4 at the facade of the temple, 4 as roof of the side left building, 2 as trees and 1 as path/bridge leading to the temple.

Let's continue building some LEGO Microscale Habitats!

I didn't have much building time this week, so I decided to build a simple, yet effective, LEGO microscale canyon.

Very basic building technique, but it turned out pretty well.

Here's my entry for the 3rd day of VignWeek 2024. The prompt is Sci-fi Fantasy.

What if we put a group of fantasy characters into the post-apocalyptic science fiction of Fallout?

Well, here we have two fairies, a dwarf, a elf and wizard roaming the Fallout wasteland.

I never played the game, so I don't know if there is actually a vault 13.

We had the exclusive opportunity to visit one of the properties of famous inventor Leonard Van Wint. The occasion was the presentation of his latest Light Hybrid Airship prototype.

On this private island, Van Wint has build his own Greenhouse, everything is self sufficient. The watering system comes from the natural pond present on the island, while the electricity comes from wind turbines. Leonard made his appearance on a curious flying bicycle.

We accessed the property from a pretty scary hanging dock, we also noticed a passage to the underground of the island, but we haven't been granted access, so what's inside remain top secret...

Made with 98 parts. The prompt was "Attack".

Here's my yearly Christmas MOC. Last year Santa had some relaxing time at the onsen, but this time he decided to invest in a ride upgrade, let's call it a water sleigh.

His helpers are with him, preparing for the latest letters and deliveries. In the background a good old microscale forced perspective.

Merry Christmas everyone!

I'm back at designing habitats. Here's my latest, for the Potter minifigure from CMF series 24.

3nd entry for round 2 of the Iron Forge 2023.

This time I went underwater.

I've used 18 tooth plates: 2 for the teeth of the monster and 16 for corals/plants.

It was quite fun to add all the colorful bits, including some hair pieces. The floating thing it's supposed to represent some sort of net/plastic in the ocean, the part is a LEGO cloth bag/spider net.

Here's my microscale castle entry for Brickscalibur and Colossal Castle Contest.

A castle overlooking a small seaside village.

I tried to use some interesting parts, in particular I think the capes and the teacups worked out pretty well. I'm also quite satisfied with the design of the dragon and the sailboats.

5th and last entry for round 2 of the Iron Forge 2025.

Seed parts were minifigure heads, I've used 10 here, 3 for the coffee cups, 1 for the grinder, 2 for the handles (portafilters) and 4 under the coffee machine.

Fun fact, I added that 5 on the side as a brand logo for the machine, it works just nice as it is my fifth build.

Here's my figbarf entry for Brickscalibur, Farmstead Figures category, and Colossal Castle Contest, Have a Peasant Day! category.

A set of 5 nomadic farmers, a baby and a number of animals are traveling in the countryside, crossing a shallow stream.

It was my first time building a figbarf, I hope I didn't add too many unnecessary stuff around the minifigures.

I'm quite happy on how the minifigs turned out.

I didn't have any wheels for the cart, so I brick build them. I think the tree looks good too and I managed to add a spider net piece, in which they are carrying fishes.

My entry for the 12x12 vignette category for Summer Joust 2022 contest.

Jumping back to medieval times, a Lego forestman is in love with a lady from the castle. After a secret meeting on the balcony, where he shows his love with a ring, he has been discovered by the guards.

While trying to escape, archers are aiming at him. Some arrows missed, but some hit him in a soft spot...

One of the first set I bought as an adult was the modular building series, it was Pet Shop and Grand Emporium. Before making my own creation I used to modify and add things at the interior of my modular buildings, that's when I started to love making interiors :)

This is a simple tutorial of my dream kitchen I made with Lego, I hope someday I can have the real one :D , what do you guys think?

Here's my entry for the 4th day of VignWeek 2024. The prompt is Microscale set.

For this round I decided to go with this cool Monkie kid set from 2022 and put in on top of a mountain.

I actually own this set, but I haven't build it yet.

1st entry for round 2 of the Iron Forge 2025.

Seed parts were minifigure heads, I used quite a few here, as peas, chickpeas and corn.

There are two builds that really inspires me to be back building again after 4 years of hiatus, one of them is the mini vehicle series made by Tiago Catarino, it looks fun, simple, and easy to build.

Here is my take on the mini vehicles based on Pixar Cars movies which my sons and I really love, these build is a mixture based on Tiago video and the official LEGO advent series with some personal modification :)

If you like to make one, see the tutorial on my Youtube channel here: KosBrick

I hope it can also inspires others like what Tiago did to me :)

Here's my 1st contribution to the 2025 Rogue Olympics. A face-off between a vampire and a wolf with exactly 101 parts. The theme was "Twilight".

It was quite challenging to stay in the piece count limit, but I'm super happy with the reflection effect achieved on the water with the tiles underneath.

The Black Falcons are building settlements closer and closer to the forest, depleting resources and creating a threat for the creatures of the forest.

Representatives of the people of the forest have met in Rivendell and decided to put together a brave group that will have to deal with the Black Falcons.

Four hobbits, two humans, an elf and a dwarf are leaving Rivendell behind for a new adventure, along the way they will meet friendly animals of the forest and a little wise Grogu.

As promised, here is the tutorial for my littler R0-XI Droid. I'd love to see your versions of it, so feel free to tag me in your post, if you use the design.

Leonard Van Wint has been spotted flying a curious flying machine. The red airship could be his latest prototype. It is the first time the inventor has been spotted in public in the past three years. Everyone is waiting for a big announcement soon and rumors say that a journalist has been given exclusive access to Van Wint's private residence. We will have to wait and see…
