One of my favourite coaches from the Malayan Railway rolling stock. There's something about this cream and chocolate combination together with the roundness of the coach that is just so great.

With all these models completed, I thought it would be a good time to have a 'photoshoot'. Taken after the Singapore Brickfest 2021.

Stickers went on well for 20 Class. Both locos ready for Brickfest Singapore 2021.

Completed back in 2018, these d.va with white rabbit, junker, original and evangelion skins were a load of fun to build. I realised that I have not taken a "family shot" of them so here it is - the d.va (s) from m.o.c central

Fun fact : The LEGO designer that designs D.va and Reinhardt set is a Singaporean 😊

First main line diesel-electric locomotive which made its debut in Malaya in 1957. A total of twenty-six locomotives were manufactured by English Electric Co at Vulcan Foundry, United Kingdom. In its roughly thirty years of service, the 20 Class hauled both the passenger express and freight between Singapore and Malaysia. All twenty-six 20 Class locomotives were named after flowers. The last 20 Class was decommissioned in the early 1990s.

This MR 20 Class model is controlled by a PFx Brick, powered by 1x PF L-motor with lights (2x headlights and 4x side lights) and sounds.

The toughest part hands down was the decals.. more specifically the lettering on the side which is 'Malayan Railways' in Bahasa Melayu. My decal shop had each letter made separately which means I had to meticulously place them along the body. The nose stripes were finicky to handle but sticks on perfectly.

1970s Malayan Railway Mixed Freight coming along nicely. Still a WIP as I'm waiting for the studly couplers and greeble parts to arrive.

A productive Saturday tinkering and fiddling with tiny wires and metal prongs just to make it all fit in the body.

Engine sound is of BR Class 31 since they both share the same engine - EE12SVT. Turn up volume to hear growling and chugging of the locomotive.

Got to admit, it was a pain to edit and produce so many different sound clips for idling, acceleration and deceleration.. but in the end it was definitely worth it. Massive thanks to Maciej for teaching me how to build my own Train Profile.

Also added headlights that turns on depending on the direction.

Am left with decals now..

Lengthen and added one more window to the ACS Coach for better scale and realism to the real coach.

Ecstatic that my 24 Class Locomotive won Best Other Locomotive (Narrow Gauge) in Asia for Brick Train Awards 2021.

Huge congratulations to all the winners, really great to see all these top-notch LEGO locomotives, coaches, freight wagons and diorama layout.

Also, thank you @bricktrainawards for bringing the LEGO train community together from all over the world to share their passion and hobby for LEGO trains. Here's to many more years of Brick Train Awards.

Am already starting to work on my unfinished locomotive for next year's entry. 😬

Super ecstatic to share that my Malayan Railway (KTM) trains are on display at the inaugural Official LEGO fan exhibition @sgbrickfest 2021!

My exhibit is titled: Malayan Railways - A Journey Through Time.

The 20 Class together with the Cream & Chocolate coach represent the first diesel pulled express passenger service between Singapore and Malaysia from the 1950s - 1990s. The 24 Class with the ACS coach represent the current diesel pulled express passenger service.

To all my followers in Singapore, you can check out my LEGO Malayan Railway Trains and many more amazing LEGO dioramas and builds by booking your tickets (Free Admission!) at @sgbrickfest.

My exhibit will be on display from the 25th October 2021 to 1st November 2021.

After seven years, I thought it was time to revisit, redesign and rebuild my first LEGO train MOC of 20 Class. Here's Ver. 2 WIP. Body is almost done - am left with decals for the stripes.

Here are some of the major improvements over the previous build:

- Bulldog nose (tried to smoothen as much without leaving any gaps, new headlight piece which will house a PFx LED and accurate placement of indicator lights)

- Cab now with slanted windscreen (not going to lie, am very pleased with how it looks) and accurate side cab windows

- Handrails

- Correct positioning of the grilles (took me seven years to realise that I had built Ver.1 wrongly)

- Recessed circular windows

- Structurally more sturdier

- Will run on 4-wide narrow gauge tracks. Co-co bogies are currently in the works..

- Will be fitted with PFx brick + lights and sounds

Stay tuned for more updates!

It's finally done and yes I crossed over to the darkside with that windscreen roof.

Can anyone guess what piece that is?

;)

The coach is almost done! Very pleased with how it turned out. Took surprisingly longer to build because I had to go back and forth to ensure the height was correct and that the malaysian flag stripes aligned with the locomotive. Going to work on the undercarriage and interior soon.

Will post more pictures and videos when it is complete.

Twenty-six 24 Class locomotives were manufactured by Toshiba Electric Co in Japan and introduced to run on the mainline for Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) in 1987. The 24 Class locomotives were commonly seen hauling both the passenger express services and freight from the heart of Singapore to Malaysia. The twenty-six 24 Class locomotives were named after heroes and warriors from Malay folklore.

My first LEGO train MOC is of 20 Class. The first mainline diesel locomotive on the Malayan Railway. Looking back, the 2015 design (see previous photo) was rather simple but it captured the essence and shape of the locomotive.

Also, it was running on the standard LEGO track which was out of scale.

Decided to redesign and overhaul the old build to make it more accurate to the actual locomotive with major changes to the bulldog nose, cab area including the windscreen as well as the side windows (more recessed now). The 1x1 modified clip above the windscreen will hold those sword pieces you see in the older MOC to replicate the cover above the windscreen. On top of that, the updated model will run on the trixbrix narrow gauge tracks. Parts have been ordered so stay tuned for more updates.

Also, any recommendations for model tape in yellow?

Overhead from the grapevine - All LEGO Addias Superstar 40486 GWP were sold out on the first day of sales. This cute little sneaker with a (sticker‍♂️) minifig is certainly popular with both AFOL and Sneakerhead collectors!

So what can you do if you can't get hold of a box? Built a brickheadz like what I did!

Progress on the M.A.S.K Rhino Trailer. I will complete the external trailer first before adding in all the firepower, command center into this build. Now for the painful part - waiting for parts from Germany and US to arrive in Singapore.

Part of me feels that it is a huge missed opportunity that Rhino never had an official trailer. It just doesn't feel complete ( imagine Optimus Prime without its battle station trailer ) Hopefully the rumored M.A.S.K movie remake will give the rhino justice in the future.

LEGO M.A.S.K Miles Mayhem Brickheadz

Miles Mayhem, the founder and leader of V.E.N.O.M. This is a quick build completed in 2 days during Dec 2020 as I wanted to create a poster to help with Sharon's gofundme page.

Paying tribute to Brendan McKane, the voice actor of many iconic characters within M.A.S.K cartoon. RIP.

My sigfig in his token passing stance!

Am moving in to a new house soon and am wondering how the LEGO Train Community transport their trains? What kind of container and padding do you use? I understand some of you regularly take part in train shows.. wondering how you do it with minimal 'damage'. Any help is appreciated thank you!

Speaking of new house, the new diorama will be made there.. so stay tuned :)

If you ever been to Singapore, you will recognize the iconic Merlion.

I really enjoyed building this one, go check out the YouTube video!

And so it begins, the planning for my first layout! The Bukit Timah Station Station has two sidings and a main line that leads to a Truss Bridge that goes into the 'Forested area' - marked by the cute lego trees (of course not final forest design) where the hidden sidings are to park other trains. The Station -> 'Forested Area' direction simulates the journey from Singapore to Woodlands and subsequently Malaysia. The whole layout will be sitting on an elevated 'land' to allow space for a road to go under the truss bridge. A little simple shunting can happen in front of the station before being sent away on the main line. Happy with how this looks given the space constrains. Now to slowly order the parts...

- 2015 Oct 16 Friday - earlier today we got ready and started the day with this special tee, anticipating excitement... and yes somethings did get me excited!!
