My custom Destroyer Droid with deflector shield, built for our @darktimesgroup Antolus l collab displayed at @_bricktastic 2024.
The story takes place in the early days of the Empire, and pirates take over some CIS equipment, which they are using against the Empire
I made the driod with the shield last october, after I discovered that the 8x8 dome pieces in trans blue. These are almost perfect for my droideka build, but I didn’t got to use it in any MOCs since then. The whole aesthetic of the collab, with the black round bases and raised terrain worked well to hide the connection points of the dome pieces. I also added LED lights under the shield, which gave a nice glow to the whole thing as a perfect finishing touch.
What happened before, during and after the photo shoot for the album cover of Kraftwerk’s Man Machine album? Maybe Ralf, Florian, Wolfgang and Karl found some reasons to let robots perform their music? And were they more interested in themes, which played a significant role in their career before and after the making of the Man Machine record, like the TEE-train, bicycles or robots? The dry dock port for Bismarck and Prinz Eugen is finally complete. When new warships get done I will add new docks for them thanks to the modularity!
The hole dock with the two warships is made out of 55334 pieces, is 2.32 meters long, 1,87 meters wide and 40 cm tall.
A bit more progress on the walls. Added in the small square tower, two more round towers and the angled section of the wall.
So far about 1/2 the length of the final build. It sits at at 8ft wide so far!
Time to seriously start thinking about how to source all the parts!

Now the Stern-Starboard Side. I'm actually a big fan of this view as it really shows the width of her Aft/Stern decks. You may also spot the refueling tower of the Missouri - I believe she was actually used as a tanker to refuel the smaller surface ships during the Gulf wars.

It works! It is quite fragile when putting the roof panels on, but once they are locked in it becomes rigid.
I can hit the roof with a good amount of force and it does not budge, so I consider that an engineering success!

Brookside Mansion
I am very proud to unveil my most challenging work to date, The Brookside Mansion! The mansion was originally constructed in 1889 by the industrialist John H. Bass. It now serves as the administration building for the University of Saint Francis, in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The Sisters of Saint Francis of Perpetual Adoration acquired the building in 1944 and converted it into a university. Originally the mansion was the only building to house the university but, as the university campus grew, it served in many roles and, as mentioned, now serves as the administration building.
In 2009, the Sisters began a restoration of the building and did an breath taking job of bringing it back to its original glory while modernizing it where needed.
It is truly a spectacular architectural delight and a dream design for any LEGO designer. I was truly honoured to be chosen for such a monumental task.
