Second and third pic are the selections from each box. No discernible differences in box packaging for me, same bar codes and everything.

Marvel minifigs got me back into Lego from my dark ages with #76057, these are a nice addition!

Great Spaceship build- thing is solid!

Was the ship ever actually called “the Benatar” in the MCU or just on @JamesGunn’s Twitter?

I feel a little Mandela effect on this

Toa Tahu - ver.Bu(based the GAME design)

Here is without doubt the most difficult moc I have ever made and also the most fragile.

The many angles gave me lots of difficulties and it was hard to hide the gaps and spaces between the three houses.

To be honest sometimes this moc was a nightmare 😆 but I am really proud of the result and the realism.

I hope you'll enjoy it.

Thanks to all Mocers that gave me inspiration.

My two Alien Conquest-inspired Vipers side by side.

A rag-tag bunch of adventurers brought together by chance and fate. A thief, a warlock, a halfling bard, a paladin, an elfen ranger and... An orc? While their differences sometimes cause tensions, at the end of the day they work together and cover each other's weaknesses.

This party is equally happy to take on a quest, or a pint of ale at the nearest tavern.

--------------------------------------------

Is this what they call "figbarf"? I haven't built anything for a bit, so I thought I'd go for something a bit different to my usual fare and dig out some minifigs, which are usually neglected or a bit of an afterthought in my builds. It was actually a bit of a challenge for me to find parts which would work to create a little D&D-ish party. Fairly happy with them, and I will be posting individual photos and backstories when I've thought of them!

The XL-15 enters the LEGO City!

This set wouldn’t have been on my radar if it wasn’t for the buzz about the Lightyear film’s director being AFOL Angus MacLane (check out his builds on Flickr!).

Evidently, he pushed for the in-film design to have a yellow transparent canopy, reminiscent of the Classic Space elements.

He also had an interesting spot on LEGOCon, worth a check out.

The build of this one and a cat seater spaceship is substantial! As a medium sized ship it checks most boxes for me: fits all accessories, swoosh-ability is there, has mobile base in form of laptop (stretch), and droid in the Catbot (also stretch). No escape pod/rover, which loses some points when compared to the medium builds of my ‘90s childhood.

But the elements and connections this set brings to the table blow anything from my childhood away. There are a few elements that are super obscure.

Color scheme for the spaceship is great, can’t miss with light blue, white, and black with that yellow canopy.

Also bonus points for extra head/hair elements for minifigs.

Less stellar for me were the minifigs. Buzz looks pretty good, but I’d prefer the dome over a normal helmet (I’m sure that’s a movie plot detail). The other figs have nice printing, but are pretty mute brown, like something out of a Star Wars set.

The shoulder pauldrons for all of them are cumbersome to range of motion.

The rocket launcher build doesn’t really work out to be held, but I do appreciate the built up weapon/scanning accessories.

Very nice set, strong suggest for the building experience and MOC possibilities!

I left off the red stripes off the wings. Does it look cleaner? Worse? Let me know

I’ll be looking at more contemporary LEGO sets that are bringing back Classic Space soon!

The next step up from the classic AC-7055 Interceptor is this, the AC-7060. This heavy-hitting strike fighter packs a mighty punch with its twin laser cannon, and it can take a lot of punishment due to its strong armour and shield systems.

Favoured by alien commanders around the galaxy, this is one ship you don't want to see on your tail.

"There must be hundreds of them!"

I decided to revamp a Sentry as a counterpart to my 'Mk. 2' Uplink. This upgraded version is bigger and tougher than the original, with swappable weapons modules to mount between the shoulders. I couldn't find a neat way to include control sticks at the front, so I'm just imagining that the Iron Drone piloting the machine is connected and can control it wirelessly.

Bring back Exo-Force!

Rugged, reliable and, most importantly, very red. This little tractor is ideal for tackling all your ploughing and towing needs.

The Penetrator is fast, efficient, and deadly. This powerful interceptor and fighter is built around a trio of Blacktron Shrike plasma/fusion hybrid thrust units which allow the ship to catch and outrun most other small craft in the galaxy.

As for armament, the Penetrator packs a battery of four laser cannon, as well as two Gauss cannon which can be used to fire penetrating projectiles into enemy craft. This ship features only light shielding, relying instead on speed and first-strike capabilities for defence.

This bold, bright racing ship is a lot quicker than its small thrusters may lead you to believe. There isn't much space in the cockpit, but sometimes you have to sacrifice comfort if you want to win.

Named after the Delta Flower Scarab beetle. After I built it, I thought the front "claw" sections, along with the part on the front of the cockpit, made it look a bit beetle-like. So I was looking up various types of scarab beetle, and it turned out the Delta Flower Scarab is orange and white with a black section, like this ship!

An ancient shrine built by a long-dead civilisation, housing an enormous bronze mask. Who built the shrine, and what purpose does the mask serve?

The Fantail is one of the smallest craft in the Blacktron fleet, but its light weight combined with large thrusters give it impressive acceleration and maneuverability.

It was designed to serve as a more controllable equivalent to an escape pod, so pilot comfort wasn't a priority, but it's a tough little craft that should at least get you to the nearest moon in one piece.

1997’s Robo Master, the Big One from the bizarre RoboForce sub-theme!

That neon dome! And all the prints! It’s like a better version the Blacktron 2 pods, but it’s on this weird Beast Wars mecha. And it doesn’t detach to fly off. Bummer.

What does detach to fly off is pretty cool for how simplistic it is: a smaller Unitron Star Hawk II (#1789). A set design from another far superior Space sub-theme.

I don’t mean to hate on RoboForce this much, it looks cool, has tons of prints, neon transparent elements, and great minifigs with leg prints and updated helmet sculpts! All of that is awesome!

But why wasn’t this designed as a spacecraft? It would have been among the best. LEGO hadn’t figured out Mechs in ‘97, but they sure have now.

Final thought, what was the tail thing?

A weapon? A ‘robot’? A charger for the spacecraft?

An alternate build of set #77941 Mighty Dinosaurs (Blue), inspired by the old Prehistoric Power Creator set which featured a Triceratops and a Mammoth.

This is a fun little build, with plenty of flexibility and expression. I guess this is probably more like the kind of thing I should do if I ever want to get back to LEGO!

SO CUTE.

The Tadpole is commonly seen at spaceports and outposts, particularly ones that are just being built or are expanding. Often working alongside the C.A.T.T. cargo transports, the Tadpole can get into tighter spaces than many other industrial forklifts, which makes it highly valued.

The MT-91 is an explorer's best friend in the icy wastes of the Martian poles. Chunky wheels driven by a heavy-duty V4 engine allow this mighty machine to cross almost any terrain, and there's enough storage for tools and samples in the back.

And of course, the cabin is well insulated and heated!

Built for Febrovery '22!

And yes, the pistons are connected to the wheels. Might stick a little video up at some point.

A majestic stag, built using parts from 2 copies of set #31154 Forest Animals: Red Fox, and based mainly on a Red Deer.

When I saw the red fox set, I knew I had to do something with it. The little tree made me think antlers, and so the ideer (sorry!) was planted. I had to get two copies of the set to have enough parts to make the antlers a decent size.

This is by far my most complex "alternative build" MOC so far, and probably one of the most complex I've done in general. It's got studs going forwards, backwards, up, down, left and right! All this results in a very solid build. The head is a little big for the body, but overall I'm really pleased with how this guy turned out!

1993’s Blizzard Baron enters the LEGO City from Ive Planet 2002!

An OG Hoth snowspeeder, who doesn’t love that?

This set has a couple classic Ice Planet prints, cool minifig with accessories, and a decent amount of neon transparent orange elements for a little ship!

Not only is it a capable little snowspeeder, but it has a detachable communications base/portable science lab. Simple, but a good use of a few parts to bring more story elements to a small build.

I’m happy to have this guy added to my Ice Planet 2002 fleet. Did you have this set? Does it hold up as interesting to a modern audience? Anyone know why it’s also called the Ice Planet Vx122?

Toa Tahu - ver.Bu(based the GAME design)

"Uplink and I are a team. Between us there's nothing we can't do."

I've been meaning to revamp this old set for a while, so here it is! Bigger and sturdier than the original version, I wanted to keep the "cockpit" open while offering a bit more protection to the pilot, so I went with the cage over the top. I also made it "modular" so there are different attachment options to choose from depending on the mission.

AKA, King Matteo

This marks the 4th and final version of my quest to use all 4 color variants of the beaked dragon head Lego produced from the Lego Vikings line, that was used as Matteo's mask.

Bio

After a successful career in piracy, Matteo shaped the trade routes of the world to his favor, and became a wealthy merchant. Here he married a mortal woman and adopted a son. After the inevitable conclusion of their lives, Matteo moved on to one of the most difficult challenges he'd ever face...Politics.

My last little VV for NoVVember this year. I wanted to make another minifig-scale one, but didn't find enough inspiration in time. Still, I'm pleased with this little baby one. Goes to show that you don't need a lot of parts to make something that looks good!
