Very rare do I see a starling this time of year, we had one hanging around the birdfeeder for a while, lately I haven’t seen any so now I think there gone for the winter
Last year's ossified bracts on a small flowering tree of some kind provide a sculptural beauty all their own in advance of the new season's blooms.
This poor beetle climbed up on the leaf only to find someone has already eaten it! (I think a 10 stripe Beetle)
Happy Macro Monday!
I visited this country property , an old sheep station , several years back and photographed this very same spot, this time there is missing a can of Sunshine powdered milk , the old Penfolds sherry bottle still remains. This was photographed in the old kitchen of the station.
A bird of prey must of had its fill earlier as it left this mouse atop a fence post.
I did wait when looking for owls to see maybe if one would zoom in on iy but never occurred.
Happy Fence Friday -- and have a great weekend too!
Leftover or just left to rot - that being the building as well as the beautiful old truck!
Happy Truck Thursday!
I was near this osprey nest, and had seen no activity, when one osprey flew in with this fish. Turns out this one was already in the nest, probably tending to the young (I'd seen a baby last week). The adults interacted a bit, then the one in the nest took off with this partial fish.
After scouring the shoreline this fox settled on the ice with what appears to be a previously gnawed on bone, which seems to be appreciated.
THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT AND FAVES
ON THE REACTIONS I WILL TRY TO RESPOND BACK

Still the remnants of the high water from February / March
This is a leftover from March when we had snow and nice temperatures. In March, water temperature is around 37f (3c) and with mostly waterproof boots, is enjoyable.
The Great Salt Lake - GPS is not the exact spot of the shot.

I never met you personally, I never touched your skin. In this place created for pleasure, you have become just a pixel shadow that haunts me when I stay alone in this infinite world.
Feel it with this tune
Btw. Leftovers series is pretty amazing!
Actually, the crayfish is fresh, pulled from the lake bottom by this little female Hooded Merganser. She and her people kept me so long on my morning outing I missed breakfast and had to settle for Thanksgiving leftovers as a late brunch.
Outtakes and Leftovers, having a hard time getting out of the house (figuratively speaking).
I hope everyone's having an awesome weekend.
