Katsura – japanese heart tree, in Norwegian – has gorgeous yellow autumn leaves and smells like cotton candy.
Loving the autumnal/fall colors we are getting this year. I guess it must be due to all the dry sunny weather we get in Scotland.

This week I have chosen to experiment with my lens and depth-of-field to see the outcome. This shot in particular plays with colour and focus which was my primary trial. What I really like about the outcome of the photograph is how the background blends together seamlessly and has a painted style to it. I'm normally not one to like an image to have such a shallow DOF but in this case I do think it works quite nicely.

RHS Hyde Hall, Rettendon, Nr. Chelmsford, Essex
Over the past 2 or 3 years I have posted many images from RHS Hyde Hall and now I’m going to post another series, this time called ‘A day in the Life’. As the title suggests I’m posting what I think are the best of that particular day. These are just some taken on 14/07/2013, I have found a couple of early ‘missing’ folders which I would like to show.
