Painted Stork Juvenile

The light was pretty harsh there and technically this pic has some drawbacks. But, I love this action. Widespread resident and found normally in Inland and Coastal wetlands of India. Juvenile is dirty greyish-white, with grey-brown (feathered) head and neck and brown lesser coverts. Bill and legs duller than adult's. Adults are colorful with lots of Orange-yellow and red on face and legs. Closeup of adult is coming soon.. stay tuned!

The primary reason for starting the Distance Learning School is to make our education accessible to parents who do not live close to the school geographically, for students who have medical issues that prevent them from being in a school environment. The goal of the distance learning model is to support students become members of an active learning community. This picture represents learning how to put makeup on. I remember my debut in high school…the first experiences. I wanted to feel beautiful and I wanted the boys to look at me. I learned from my mom and did it with my friends. I would also read magazines to get tips. I became a reference in terms of makeup! I think it is symbolic in a woman’s life and it is an important step as well. Once you’ve started, you can’t stop, and it follows you your whole life! Makeup is also a very powerful seduction tool. I chose this picture because I had bought new makeup and I was getting ready for Christmas dinner at my grandmother’s house. I also like the way I look in that dress even if the face isn’t that nice! : ( I think makeup is like straightening my hair, as I explained in “Straight Hair”.

52 in 2016 Challenge: Week 44 - Minimalist - It is often said in photography that less is more. For this week's image, isolate your subject using the minimalist approach. Inspire someone with your art. Find a subject that you can photograph simply. Make it as clean as possible so focus is on the subject and nothing else. Madison, WI

i want to be good at this. i really do. it's a bit more difficult than i thought it would be.

These are my nine pages of Chinese practice. I've done them on my own with the help of my "tutor." Each page has 250 squares, which makes over 2000 squares I've done.

The learning space for the 2011 2M Gems.

walking down an alleyway behind some apartments we came across this man teaching his wife how to ride a bicycle. He was doing all the work as she couldn't go straight or stay upright unless he held on the back of the bicycle and ran along with her. He was her set of "training wheels"

There are many times when I catch myself not looking into much detail of the photograph I am taking. I think that still subjects such as landscapes require a very careful examination before and during the picture taking process. And then, there are moments that cannot be missed as a result of examining the scene as this moment will pass and if not capture will go away forever. Sometimes the picture doesn't come out the way we want it, but I personally think that it is not the technical part of photography that is important in such photograph, but the glimpse of life captured.

I really do try to spend more time in the darkroom, but sometimes pictures I take disappoint me to the point where I do not want to print a negative that came out to be not what I've expected for whatever reason, but I keep saying to myself that this is all a process of learning anyway.

The picture above was shot at Lincoln Park, the place where a crowd of people roller skate. The little girl enjoyed dancing and was very curious of my camera (Olympus OM-2, shot with 50mm lens on Tri-X 400 film). The moment is perfect. This is a scan of the print.

Technical notes:

First of all I had to process the film in a different manner as I accidently shot having a +1 stop set on Olympus OM-2, therefore the film was overexposed by a stop and needed to be pull processed which still came out to be good. I started using Ilfosol 3 as my developer and so far it gave really good results with Tri-X film. The development time was 80% of normal development time, 6:15 seconds to be exact and was done at 68 degrees. The print was developed in Kodak Polymax T developer for total of 1 min at 70 degrees. The lower left side of the print has a stain that looks like oil on the paper and that was my mistake for not cleaning the glass on the enlarger.

You can see a piece of me (my hand), but my daughter is a huge piece of who I am as well.

She hasn't said any real words yet, but she loves to flip through her board books and babble excitedly. She pulled herself up using the coffee table and insisted on standing for this session of story time.

What Works (and What Doesn’t): Learning from CGI Commitments to Action

SESSION FEATURES: BREAKFAST AVAILABLE

Since 2005, members of the CGI community have made thousands of Commitments to Action that are addressing some of our most pressing domestic and global challenges. While CGI commitment-makers share a common goal to improve the world around them, the challenges they face in developing and implementing Commitments to Action are as diverse as the issues they address. This session will bring together CGI commitment-makers to discuss lessons learned, provide insight for future and current commitment-makers, and answer questions from participants.

When you are using speed learning or accelerated learning techniques you do so by communicating. Communication is formed from language.

So far so good... Right !

Well maybe. You see it all depends on what the language is that you are learning in...
