Those are hard lighting condition. Planar and some underexposing deal with it quite nicely.

Day 361/365

As I only have 3 days left (yes, I know - I'm a day behind on uploading!) I thought it was fitting to have a photograph about a climb, and a difficult one at that.

Life is one of the most amazing things, but we all have our ups and downs, our easy climbs and our difficult ones. Part of loving life is learning to love the ups, and the downs because it's all the same thing in the end. :)

Well I started out down a dirty road

Started out all alone

And the sun went down as I crossed the hill

The town lit up the world got still

Im learning to fly but I aint got wings

Comin down is the hardest thing

Well the good old days may not return

And the rocks might melt, and the sea may burn

Im learning to fly but I aint got wings

Comin down is the hardest thing

Well some say life will beat you down

Break your heart, steal your crown

So I started out for God kno ws where

But I guess Ill know when I get there

Im learning to fly around the clouds

But what goes up must come down

Many thanks to all who comment, fave or just enjoy looking, it really is very much appreciated!

I am learning to love the sound of my feet walking away from things not meant for me. --its truly refreshing.

i'm learning to stay with whatever arises; learning to witness my emotional weather. when fear or shame or sadness arises, i stay. i want to judge or distract, yet i eventually stay. and you know what happens when i stay with the difficult? i also stay with the joyful. i stay with the love and the happiness.

and i savor little things, like my backyard wildflowers blooming well into the autumn chill.

And learning how to use Lightroom 5...I am used to old Photoshop CS4 but decided to try Lightroom 5 and I love it! There is however a learning curve and I have experienced some frustration. But it is indeed a great program and I do recommend it.

Hope all is well in the world of Flickr!

on a plate dusted with dark chocolate powder are nests of rice and fruity porridge, all topped with a sprinkling of pumpkin, sesame, and pomegranate seeds

the fruity porridge is porridge blended with fruits, custard and semolina - whatever i had to hand from the countertop freezer that i fancied :) also added for colour and even more flavour were turmeric, ginger and cinnamon powders

the microwave has packed up so the fruity porridge with a cup of water was all heated slowly in a saucepan on the hob. tasted ok

i'm not replacing the microwave as without it i've regained valuable space in my small kitchen, but i am thinking of buying a pasta making machine, looking around ...

Amazing fun photoshoot with Colleen !!!

Believe it or not, this photograph is almost straight out of the camera! Colleen friend owns an orchard, and she has this crane-like machine for picking their fruits! I had way too much fun with the crane. I was half scared to death (afraid of heights) and extremely excited because I love the top down perspective!
