Just because I thought these ropes lying on a dock in the late afternoon sun looked kinda cool.

Thanks for looking...

I'm forever learning. When I saw this bird I thought it was a blue-headed wagtail, which was the only yellow wagtail variant I knew. Then a chance reading of UK rarity reports made me aware of other variants and so I did a bit of research and discovered that there are around half a dozen variants.

The best match I could find for this, and other wagtails I saw in the Algarve, is the Iberian wagtail. Blue-headed wagtails have a yellow throat, not white and the prominent white eye stripe indicates that it's not an ashy-headed wagtail. It was also in Iberia!

Photographed on the salt pans at Olhão.

This mama turkey has brought her little ones into the woods near my house three days in a row! I was very surprised to find them hiding under plants in a garden near the bird feeders on Sunday! I am hoping to get better shots in the near future, but am posting this now so you can get an idea how cute they are.

Spanish Imperial Eagle (Aquila adalberti) juvenile Spain_9176

A rare eagle breeding only in Spain and Portugal, with some immatures dispersing into North Africa.

Very similar to the closely-related Imperial Eagle, but is darker overall and adults have a distinctive white leading wing edge on the shoulders which can been seen from below when flying. Juveniles (as here) are rufous and largely un-streaked on the upper-wings, underwings, and the breast compared to the heavily streaked Imperial Eagles.

Mostly found in remote forested landscapes, especially those with a high density of rabbits.

Here's a confession.

I'm an on the go type of guy.

I can't sit still.

I feel like I have to always be doing something.

Here's to learning to relax.

Key word, learning.

Learning Forest: Drying off

this creation came from a shoot yesterday .. my son and i were jumping on the bed.. fun!!! and i made the background using a picture of mountains in colorado where my borther lives and a field of poppies i found on the internet!!! :)

my son has not been napping consistently or for very long, so this means changes are necessary in my rules for my 365... i don't want to quit the project..but i am going to loosen my requirements.. since i rarely get use of that free chunk of time in the afternoon..i am just going to have to try my best to take a picture and whether or not i do a lengthy manipulation will have to depend on my son's needs..

:) i'm trying hard not to be disappointed about making huge changes with my stream.. but in a way i think it will help me grow as a photographer to try and come up with interesting shots that don't need much processing... but don't get me wrong..if i find the time to process a photo.. i certainly will! ... since it is one of my greatest joys and forms of expression... just wanted to give a head's up about where my stream might be heading..

:)

also will check in with my friend's streams later tonight.. have to post this and run unfortunately

special thanks to JoesSistah for the radical wings!!!

big love xoxoxoxo

Sydney's first ballet class. This was taken shortly before she left the class. She only made it 10 minutes into the 45 minute class before giving up. I think it was too overwhelming for her being in there with the big kids. It didn't help that Jessie kept giving her instruction...haha. I kept telling Jessie to let the instructor give her guidance, but Jessie being the teacher that she is, kept telling Sydney what to do.

Next week, we will make sure she is in an age appropriate class. :)

I have photos of horses to work from. Thank you Johny.

Have you ever tried to draw a horses head? Easy? Oh yeh... Try drawing the nose for the first time! But I am learning. Wearing out my eraser, and have a long way to go, but I am learning, (I think) These are my first three horses!
