This is an "Afterglow"- it's the light even after the sunset, but it mostly appears at the other side of sunset

The Rolex Learning Centre ("EPFL Learning Centre") is the campus hub and library for the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), in Lausanne, Switzerland. Designed by the winners of 2010 Pritzker Prize, Japanese-duo SANAA, it opened on 22 February 2010.
Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa, partners of the Tokyo-based design firm SANAA, were selected as the lead architects in EPFL's international competition of December 2004. The team was selected among famous architects and even some Pritzker Prize Laureates such as Zaha Hadid, Rem Koolhaas, Diller Scofidio + Renfro, Jean Nouvel, Herzog & de Meuron, Ábalos & Herreros and Xaveer De Geyter.
The construction took place between 2007 and 2009. It cost 110 million Swiss francs and was funded by the Swiss government as well as by private sponsors (Rolex, Logitech, Bouygues Construction, Crédit Suisse, Nestlé, Novartis and SICPA).

Morgen start weer een nieuwe fotocursus... Benieuwd wat er zal gebeuren!
Yesterday a drove a route that I don't normally and came across this mural on the back of the Sheboygan Area School District's central office building. I like finding vibrant street art and try to preserve them in photos.
While schools are important in a child's learning, moms play an important part in that process as well. Happy Mother's Day to all!

Students of Kibera slum, one of the largest in Africa. Many of Kibera's children rarely attend school regularly, and officials complain that the primary school drop-out rate is around 70 per cent.
*It was really nice to find this children there.

I got these the other week when playing "catch" with my son. I was trying to explain to him; keep your eye on the ball.. However, on each attempt, he'd simply close his eyes and hope for the best.
Just had to grab the camera and try and capture it.
Used my prime lens here at f1.8, with just light from a window. Brought the ISO up to 400 to get a higher shutter speed (as the light wasn't that strong).
N.B. No child was harmed in the making of this photograph ;-)

Like a bicycle for kids with its two extra wheels, or like a baby owl afraid to jump out of its nest and fly for the first time, this MIG plane is gathering confidence until a boost takes it far away in Kyrgyzstan's sky.
i finally installed adobe photoshop cs yesterday and i decided to re-learn how to use photoshop. About this photo, i had uploaded before with less processing. This time, this picture had been through 3 kinds of processing.
HDR. This picture was taken when i got a task from my photography lecture to take 3 exposures. At that time i didnt have tripod, so i think you can see there's something wierd on the tree leaves. I was using photomatix for the HDR, the trial. lol. I had to retouch to hide 'photomatix' watermark. Grrr annoying trial version. But i have cs5 now. no need HDR trial. :D
Then i edited the colors using Adobe Bridge. I learned from youtube (i love technology!)Click here to see the tutorial.
The last thing. Then i opened this picture on PSD to add the vintage tone. Again i learned it from youtube (i shouldnt have learned photo processing because the next day, which is today, im gonna have my last day of midtest at 1 pm lol). Click here to see the tutorial. and press 'L' :)

We went to a small zoo in Bowmanville, Ontario. During the show they brought out these darling lion cubs (3 months old). They were so cute we just wanted to take them home!
We also learned the difference between the "big" cats (lion, tiger, panther) and the small cats ... the roar! Big cats can roar, but not purr ... smaller cats can purr, but not roar. There's your animal lesson for the day.
