learn something new every day. When I set up this shot I knew my tripod would be in the water. I hadn't really thought about how the water would make the tripod sink in the sand... much like your feet do when you stand in sand with the outgoing water. If you look closely to the right of the far right rock you can see the ghost of how the camera moved during exposure.

The Canon EOS 5D Mark II EF 24-105/4L IS USM was my workhorse until I got the Nikon D800 & D800E with the 70-200 mm 2.8 VR2 zoom.
Canon, Nikon, you can't go wrong with the pretty 45surf model goddesses! (Though the D800 is my new love.)

Day 300 of 365 - Learn It Or Lose It

I had a 'conversation' with on of my flickr friends today about manual focus. He is a big collector of old lenses and cameras that don't generally work together and ends up getting things like Olympus lenses to work with Canon body's through adapters and such. Obviously no auto focus is available in a situation like that. I brought up that manual focus is a challenge for me and the lensbaby I have had for almost a year has gotten almost no use because of it. So after my 50mm challenge (and yes I realize the lensbaby is also a 50mm) is over I will be spending some serious time with the lensbaby. I have committed to myself that if I don't learn to use it effectively very soon I am going to sell it. Hopefully that will motivate me. I love the idea of the lensbaby; I just haven't given it enough effort to make effective use of it yet.
