I have seen this car EVERYWHERE since the very first day I came to Morocco, almost five years ago. It’s a French car from the 60s, and they are so beloved here that many have survived through restoration. Someday soon it will be my personal project to fix one up myself and learn how it works.

During Railroading Heritage of Midwest America's "Tractors & Trains" Open House at Silvis, IL, guided tours were given inside the former Rock Island shops to view locomotives and equipment in RRHMA's possession as well as a chance to learn about each piece of equipment's history and rebuild progess.
Among several pieces of heritage equipment donated to RRHMA by the UP in 2022 are the UP 2-10-2 "Santa Fe" No. 5511 and UP 4-6-6-4 "Challenger" No. 3985, both of which are currently in progress for restoration.
Here, Scott Dolanc explains to our group history of the Challenger and RRHMA's progress with restoring it back to operation. 10/19/24.
