Beer can (Battin Gambrinus), Foma matte paper, Rainwater
Hmm... I hung it slightly inclined. Some time, maybe in September the can moved or was moved into vertical position. This is visible in the change of the angle of the sun-traces. Plenty of water inside. I've put another one in the same place. Let's see in half a year if I can make it any better.
One of the things with film photography is, that one never knows, what comes out. With this roll of film, I suddenly had light leaks in it. No idea why. Maybe it happened during the development, maybe I was not careful enough while taking out the film? Who knows. After all, it's about learning to find the beauty in things, others would call a fail. I like the mood in this picture and yes, maybe it was better, without needing to crop and without the leaks, but it is as it is and I like it.

My Holga lost a foam film roll pad resulting in a "fat roll." That type of roll will have light leaks but I didn't know what to expect. This is much better than I expected.

Oops, my sanity is leaking! When it's busy season at work and you feel your sanity slowly slipping away...
Erin Dickson, born in South Shields, England, and Jeffrey Sarmiento, born in Chicago, are two artists based in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. Both are known for their use of glass and share a fascination with cultural and emotional connections to architecture and explore their experience of space from individual perspectives.
Dickson graduated from the Architectural Association in London, and completed her PhD combining architectural phenomenology, technology and glass at the University of Sunderland, in 2015. Sarmiento received his MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, in 2000, and PhD from The University of Sunderland, in 2011. Dickson was studio assistant to Sarmiento at the University of Sunderland (2010-2014). In his works, Sarmiento integrates glass with graphics, including words, images, artifacts and urban landscapes, to uncover hidden narratives. Dickson combines phenomenology with architecture and digital technology to create sculpture, installation, and performance that considers the emotional and sensorial qualities of spaces. In Emotional Leak (2011) they produced the physical manifestation of a slowly leaking roof. Inspired by water and realized in glass, the resulting form is a black monolithic sculpture, resembling a digital gothic architectural model. Dickson and Sarmiento have individually and collectively exhibited worldwide including, Saatchi Gallery (2013), London; Fondazione Berengo (2015), Venice; and Bullseye Gallery (2016), Portland. Sarmiento won a Fulbright scholarship to Denmark (2003-2004); a Research Councils UK Academic Fellowship at the University of Sunderland (2006-2011); and was honored with a mid-career retrospective at the National Glass Centre (2013), Sunderland. Dickson was awarded an inaugural Technology Advancing Glass grant from the Glass Art Society (2014).

In an effort to replace my ill-fated Nik II (lost at sea), I have acquired an original Nikonos from 1965. Long story short, it leaks. Through the winder assembly. Not good. Now destined to be purely decorative, it’s really quite lovely, all black paint and brassy corners. 56 year old seals are not, however, much chop. My primary Nik III is soon to be joined by a second Nik III. Fingers crossed…. This is from the one test roll, Portra 400 with seawater developer, converted to B&W so as not to offend
One of the film backs that came with my newly acquired RB67 has a slight light leak. I've order replacement seals, so hopefully this will not be an ongoing issue. I liked this photo and I don't think I will be able to go back and capture the icicle given the rise in temperatures this week.

After the first big storm in our new house, we were quite surprised to discover water coming down our wall. I don't think a brand new house should have a roof leak. We had the roofers out to "fix" it but during the next storm, it still leaked. We had the roofers out again and now we're waiting for the next rain to make sure it's fixed for good this time.
On the bright side, the leak was in the bedroom so no LEGO sets or photo gear was damaged :-)

Last weekend we went to San Francisco to watch the historic flight of the solar aircraft called Solar Impulse fly over the Golden Gate Bridge. We had a nice picnic a Crissy Field. Waking in the park I noticed this bird bathing in a puddle of water, I could get quite close, the bird was too absorbed with her task.
I took thee bracketed RAW exposures, but used only the underexposed version to process a balanced HDR photo. After that I carefully pulled the curves and addd some light leak.
