I was proud to be the one that was able to identify this species when the experts were stumped. It was quite tattered, so that made identification more difficult. This was the only one seen during the count.

It seems that I put out the fruit feeders at just the right time. At least this guy agreed.

This is a male based on his bright orange wings. To survive his wings look like a leaf. Instead of flowers as an adult this butterfly likes to eat dead decaying things. Animal dung is a delicious treat for this butterfly
