My notes from the time say that this is by a 40-year-old Chinese lady... Although I heard elsewhere it was an elderly Scottish lady... Really, this author is a mystery!

Gift books were kind of like early coffee table books. They are chock full of illustrations and poems and stories of dubious literary merit. They were meant to be displayed and cherished.

Our copy of Leaflets of Memory is rather boss as it is inscribed to “La Belle Marguarite” from the Doctor who “hopes to have a page” in her life. Hot stuff in deed. Do you think Marguarite had to loosen her corset upon reading the dedication? Did the mysterious Doctor encounter Marguarite whilst taking a Tardis joyride to 19th century America? The world wants to know, gosh darnit!

A feature of living at university halls is the deluge of crap leaflets coming through the door advertising rubbish you don't want. This example is a leaflet advertising music streaming service Spotify

Commemorating the legacy of Gyosei International School UK. The Japanese co-educational boarding school and playing fields closed in 2002 and the site at Willen Park South was redeveloped as Lovat Fields Village and Barret Homes Gyosei housing scheme.

Developer funding paid for eight artworks in Phase 1, which

are related to the themes of; Japanese Connections, Canal

History, Fish, Fowl, Insects and Invertebrates.

The trail is located on both sides of the Grand Union

Canal from H3 Monks Way to H5 Portway and is accessible

from the local redway network.

Local birds and plants

Laura’s seven enamel panels presenting local birds using a Japanese aesthetic, combine her training in Japanese woodblock and her experience of Japanese art with the practicality of vitreous enamelling. The panels are inspired by birds and plants that visitors to the canal are likely to see around them throughout the year. Laura has combined her imagery with Japanese short poems to bring together both local and Japanese ideas about seasonality and local wildlife, celebrating both the Japanese theme of the Gyosei Art Trail and the richness of the canal environment.

Cover of an A4 leaflet on the Historic Houses of West Yorkshire: Cliffe Castle. The leaflet was produced in the late 1980s/early 1990s (note the telephone code 0274 not 01274) by the West Yorkshire Archaeology Service - an updated version was issued later.

The leaflet includes line drawings of the house at various stages (when it was simply a 'Hall', at the height of its 'Castle' prowess under the ownership of Henry Isaac Butterfield', and in its current form as principal museum for the town), the stained glass window at the top of the stairs, and the griffin Butterfield crest. There is also a plan of the room layout while still the Butterfield home up until 1949.

The item was donated to Keighley and District Local History Society by Patricia Williams in December 2021. It is held in the History Society's physical archive.

Please excuse me for blowing my own trumpet but I'm rather pleased to have 2 of my photographs on this years Tatton Park visitor leaflets. All leaflets refer to the other four leaflets on the last page, but the 1995 "facts and figures" one (last one in the first row) mentions a leaflet called "LEGO products and the enviroment" instead of the "the LEGO prize" (with the Ygdrasil tree) one.
