One year preparation before exhibiting, showing the best photos of the whole project. As a photographer, I always take photos in Sham Shui Po. Once, I found people sleeping on the street, I captured with inexplicable feelings. And this action extended to other areas. While I pressing the shutter, I think……Are they homeless? Are they napping because of tried? How can they sleeping at the unsafe area? Are they having any dream?
Sleeping – One of the basic necessities to live. No matter why they sleeping on the street, they are fighting for their living space.
Hong Kong – A fast-developing city. Is this social phenomenon happened in every fast-developing city? Or it’s only happened in Hong Kong?
Also, hidden within the book, was a leaflet for tents and camping equipment from The Lightweight Tent Supply Company, 61 High Holborn, London, W.C. 1. This has no specific date on it, but I suspect is roughly contemporary to the book - it contains endorsements of it's products from an article in "Land & Water", 7th Sept 1916, and in reference to their Motor Tent, say, "As supplied to Officers of the 1st and 2nd Life Guards for Active Service at the Front." I can, unfortunately, find no reference to this company on the net, but here is a picture of the area a little earlier, in 1890.
