My 5 year old found a cardigan at the thrift store, a few weeks ago, and practically begged to have it. He even volunteered paying half the price from his own money. Luckily for him, it was 50% off, so he didn't need to contribute anything. ;)
I want to knit one for him by next fall/winter. I hope he still likes the idea of a cardigan when I'm done!

Club La Costa offer unique holiday experiences at their wide range of European luxury resorts and hotels. We produced this A5 leaflet for them last summer as a promotional hand-out for the Holiday Properties Exhibition held at Wetherby Racecourse.
Has anyone else had this through the door? It's like going back to the 1970's. I remember the three day week, when the local paper published a rota for blackouts. This leaflet indicates that there is a "remote prospect" that this may happen, yikes.

MUSEUM OF FLIGHT//
Within this brief I was to redesign the Museum of Flight identity and create a piece of informational design.
I wanted to create an identity that linked personaly with the museum but also tied in the fact that it was based in Scotland. So for this I designed a mark that represented the St Andrews cross but also represented the four hangers at the museum.
OWI leaflet 507 is a tactical assault leaflet. It is designed to expedite the surrender of Japanese soldiers during the early stages of an assault. The leaflet depicts and American officer talking to two Japanese soldiers. The body language is friendly and the dialogue is intended to make American promises more credible. Text on the back is:
An American officer who speaks Japanese well was talking with two Japanese soldiers who came over to the American forces on Guam. The two soldiers expressed their thanks for the excellent treatment they had received.
"Didn't you know that American troops treat Japanese well?' the officer asked.
The two soldiers shook their heads. "No," they replied. "We were afraid to come over to you. We thought you would kill us. We only came when there was no more hope."
Don't wait until our fierce artillery fire and bombs crush you beyond all hope of recovery. Resistance is futile; come now. You will receive good food, water, and medical treatment. A hot bath and clean bed await you. Don't throw away your life in vain!
One of the various publicity leaflets issued by the London Midland Region of British Railways in connection with the 25kv AC electrification of the sections of the West Coast Main lIne from Manchester and Liverpool to London via Birmingham. The first sections of this, from Manchester Piccadilly station (the partially rebuilt and renamed London Road station) to Crewe opened in 1960 and saw nor only overhead constructed but new signalling centres and some rebuilt station buildings included. The various sections 'south' opened in 1962 (Liverpool to Crewe) with the final section being available for full passenger service in 1966. The leaflet shows some of the elements of the project including overhead, locomotives and multiple units as well as buildings.
Interestingly the name of British Railways is absent; the totem alone suggesting the organisation even though this carries the regional name.
