Decided to get a little creative with one of the trees in my mom's backyard.

Smile on Saturday

The leaves are falling, falling as if from far up,

as if orchards were dying high in space.

Each leaf falls as if it were motioning "no."

And tonight the heavy earth is falling

away from all other stars in the loneliness.

We're all falling. This hand here is falling.

And look at the other one. It's in them all.

And yet there is Someone, whose hands

infinitely calm, holding up all this falling.

Leaf Art

Entered in TMIโ€™s Leaf Study challenge.

I saved several photos from my shoot in Ripon, CA. to post here and there. I used the wind and a longish shutter for the effect.

I had a little fun editing this one, a complete change from what I'd originally planned.

The location for this shot isn't important, but for my own sake I like to mention it so I don't forget. This was taken along side the scenic US 101, near Quilcene, WA. The same place I took the recent picture of the road leading to a bridge and mountains beyond.

Here's a link to what I had originally planned for this shot.

Als confetti liggen de blaadjes op straat.

Like confetti leaves are laying on the street.

Thanks for taking time to fave, comment and look at my work. I really appreciate.

I found this leaf while walking through the woods behind our home. First I saw an eye, a mouth, and an ear! It looked very cartoonish to me. Later, after making a close-up, I saw the monster in the eye----appropriate for Halloween isn't it?

It pays to look down!!!

Some art with leaves that I have created.

Stopped at the large bend of the South Umpqua River between Tri City and Surprise Valley, Oregon to photograph the river and the mountains. There's a large gravel area there and trucks and cars stop there regularly. Unfortunately some throw their garbage into the grass and onto the side of bank. I don't think most truckers litter, but like most groups, it only takes a small percentage of bad actors to ruin the reputation of the major. That was the bad, seeing lots of tossed trash. Anyway, went down to the river bank to take my pictures, then near the waters edge I found a small enclosed pool with submerged leaves. I actually ended up having more fun photographing the leaves that the landscape. The light wasn't great for the landscape shots, but the leaves in the pool made the stop worthwhile.

Just relaxing and walking around the backyard, all the snow has melted, and finding little treasures left behind from fall.

Part II of my Phoenix Oregon Golden Leaf art series. Took these while my truck was being repaired at the Peterbilt dealer.

Leaf art of nature

Took pictures from my backyard as I enjoyed a few days home. Back on the road tomorrow morning, heading to Cheyenne Wyoming first.

Here at our Wilsonville Oregon terminal all day getting a turbo sensor replaced. So I'm making used of my down time, looking down.

Waiting on my next load. So never one to pass up an opportunity to find something to interesting. Saw this beautifully colored bush near the entrance to the truckstop. But, it's raining lightly and windy. The leaves were vibrating. I've been looking for an opportunity to see if I could use the wind to my advantage on my leaf art. Instead of me moving the camera, I would rely the wind. Some of the shots I waited for a slight pause and faster shutter to get fairly sharp edges or details, others I went for slower shutter speed and good wind "vibrations". Anyway, fun stuff and I think I got some pretty good images.

Embrace of the Ceylon Oak

In the heart of the emerald glade,

Where whispers of ancient stories wade,

Stands the Ceylon oak, steadfast and grand,

A sentinel of time, in this lush land.

With a crown of red, new leaves unfurl,

Like tiny flames in a gentle swirl,

Each bud a promise, each leaf a sigh,

Embracing the sun, reaching for the sky.

Roots deep in the earth, they cradle the past,

Silent witness to seasons, forever cast,

While breezes dance through its canopied throne,

In the symphony of life, it stands alone.

Spring in Southern California is in full swing. The mild temperatures and plenty of rain are moving things along nicely. I saw this lovely tree, full of beautiful flowers and new growth leaves and had to make time to take some pictures. Of course the clouds above decided it was time to lighten it load, so I continued taking pictures as my head, shoulders, back, and camera got a wee bit damp. I got some other shots that I really liked, but no time right now to pick a few of the best ones. I'll probably have a few more to post tonight or tomorrow. This shot was an easy pick for me.

Decided to do a leaves panoramic image. Why not right?

More of my closeup observations. A tiny plant working it's way up through a crack in a fallen leaf.
