Om het hoge contrast tussen hooglichten (raam) en de rest van de winkel te overbruggen heb ik deze keer weer eens de HDR techniek toegepast.

wouldn't you just love this little project...i know i would.

Sun streaming into a window in the fabulous village of Laycock.

Parts of the Harry Potter films were made in Laycock village, it is also where the BBC made the Cranford series - wonderful viewing!

While our evenings in Durham were occupied fully by the Lumiere, the days gave us an opportunity to explore the city and nearby places. Crook Hall is a lovely extended Medieval Manor House with delightful gardens - and it has a great view of the Cathedral.

Men's toilet in The Red Lion Hotel, Salisbury, May 2015. The top section of the window obviously opens.

Another oldie, shot in the early 1960s in a village in Norfolk. Not sure of the car model but I believe it's an Austin. No Japanese competition in those days, let alone Korean! The country house with its leaded windows, brick and stone construction, and climbing roses around the door, completes the scene. Different times, for sure!

The Gothic Hall in Bruges’ City Hall is full of fascinating details. Everytime I visit I discover new things. Every centimeter of the hall is used to tell the story of Brugge, it’s history and mythology. This is a detail from the stained glass windows.

Built in 1376, Bruges’ City Hall is one of the oldest in the Low Countries. It was the from here that the city was governed for over 600 years.

There is a great deal of very interesting architecture in Beccles. I intend to go back next week and have another look. Years since I visited Beccles - I. had forgotten most of it.

Around the corner from me in Southport,

Detail of the wall of St Cuthbert's, Wells. What looks to be weathered hogs head mascarons. They are similar to gargoyles but without water spouts so are purely decorative.

Location: Brigstock, in the East Northants district of Northamptonshire, England.

Sketch of a probably non-exisisting car, seen on a stained glass window in the old Shell Laboratory (1929, Groot Laboratorium, central staircase, detail).

The front nose looks a bit British.

This stained glass artwork is part of the Caviët windows, designed and made by Max Nauta (1896-1957) in 1947.

The official presentation was in July 1947 in honour of the latest director Ir. G.J.L. Caviët.

Bolsover Castle

So many lovely windows and so much lovely sunshine :)

I do have a strange obsession with photographing windows.

The lone white lantern stands out surrounded by the foliage placed on the church windowsill. The black & white conversion together with the condensation on the window panes adds up to a rather cold, wintry feel to the image.
