naked bulb and a nice piece of mikasa glass that is damaged, so i got if for maybe a dollar. i thought it was kind of cool, how the light was bent by all the differing angles (i think) so only some things are reflected. this is a straight shot. no tricks.

hi there flickr friends. went on a road trip and couldn't seem to find my way back. i have missed you all....looking forward to seeing your beautiful work again.

it is not a pleasant procedure!

the macromonday theme is crystal and i have too many to decide upon again!!

Happy New Year, my flickr friends! i watched fireworks from all over the world that i know you live in and it was grand!

this is my first image for the new year and i would like to dedicate it to a beautiful, sweet soul that i had the privilege to meet a few days ago. we met thru flickr and have become buddies! great fun!

about cyber friends: a woman i know said that friends from social networks are not real friends. and altho i understand where that statement came from, i do not believe it is always true. many of the people i have met thru flickr are kindred spirits- they love the arts, photography, exploring, experimenting, expanding their consciousnesses and hearts thru reaching out to a world community. we share our thoughts and feelings and experiences thru our commentaries, photo titles, images. we laugh at each others' dumb jokes, cry together, think about each other, share in each others' tragedies and joy...

i have been a student of people and moved all over america and even to other countries. i can tell you that there are too many people who do not do even a fraction of those things with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors. they do not connect the way many of us do.

food for thought.

a rainbow hits the floor, things are thrown around, glass thrown down and and re-arranged. and wait to see what happens.

I took this photo at an exhibition held at The House of Annetta, in Spitalfields, East London.

The house was the home of Annetta Pedretti for 40 years until her death in 2018. She was an architect, cybernetician, conservationist, builder, beekeeper, campaigner and artist. Here is the link to the fascinating organisation in her name: houseofannetta.org.

No sign of fall around here yet! It was 89 degrees yesterday. And very little colour. I'm having to resort to pulling out shots from last year: this was taken through my front door window in November 2006! I'll have to be content with autumn leaves on Flickr!

Eleni takes some pointers from her grandmother in our Kitchen, this has great meaning getting a lesson from her Grandmother while using the hand mixer from her great grandmother.

Captured in a Russellville Park hallway for Looking close... on Friday! theme: curves. HLCoF everyone!

Valentines day Roses for my better half,

I took this shot little late but the flowers still very fresh,

Supermarket flowers last much longer than the florist,

Used my 400mm zoom lens from across the room,

Happy Window Wednesday! I found these unusual spider web windows on a very interesting house near the Washington Park Arboretum in Portland, Oregon. The windows appear to be custom made from leaded glass.

We climbed the tower at St john the Evangelist church today to replace the Cross of St George flag ready for the Coronation on Saturday, all went very smoothly. I must have a word with the cleaner regarding these dirty windows.

Taken several months ago at an estate sale- the leaded glass windows in this place were lovely!

HWW!

…….has nature made the sun, the wind, the waters, all are free! A phone shot of a section of stained glass in Shrewsbury museum I spied whilst whiling away an hour or two with son & grandson the other day. I hope the year has started well for you all. Alan:-)

The interior of the Meyer May House, a 1908 Frank Lloyd Wright masterpiece, capitalizes on the sunlight streaming through leaded-glass windows and skylights to the golden oak trim and furnishings. It's a rich and elegant design.

Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959), developed a style of architecture that he explained as an "organic design in harmony with humanity and the environment."

Though he is most famous for Fallingwater, considered his masterpiece Prairie Style house in Pennsylvania (see picture in first comment below), and The Guggenheim Museum in Manhattan, NYC, my wife and I like the Meyer May House best. Its rich tones and airy light are both beautiful and comforting. Our favorite house (perhaps until we visit the next one, hahaha).

Reversed the photo to get the words reading as they would from viewing outside the pub entrance.

I like the abstract look of this photo I took through the leaded-glass sidelight of my front door window. Trying to focus on the plants outside on my deck, I tried to capture the wonder of nature.

The sun sets on an old East London boozer, a metaphor for the inept government /Covid-19 crisis and the fact that many of these old gems will never re-open.

Bloody wheelie bins, and the pub is off the vertical, not me !
