Welcome to the world famous WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca for the third season of “Lexus 0 to 60” featuring some of your favorite celebrities ripping runways with authority in the latest ensemble of high-flying Japanese coupes and sedans. The driving action matched up two teams of three drivers through adrenaline pumping motorsports drills utilizing the GS F, RC F, LC 500 and the RC F Track Edition super coupe for a chance to win a new Lexus for a year.
Without a doubt this is the best looking Lexus at the Frankfurt Motor Show - and it is powered by a V8, take this one instead of the LC 500h!

I'll let you in on a little secret. Detroit is largely giving up on traditional cars in favor of light-truck-chassis passenger vehicles because the Big Three don't want to admit they suck at making traditional cars. There's a reason why Toyota's premium brand Lexus went from being a made-up name designed for snob appeal to an honest-to-goodness luxury marque that, like other Japanese luxury brands, made the old Cadillac-versus-Lincoln rivalry irrelevant (they both lost).
This Lexus LC 500 is indicative of just how seriously Toyota - whose namesake brand started out in the U.S. market as a purveyor of little economy cars - should be taken in the luxury car market. I'm not a fan of Asian cars in general, but when Lexus relentlessly pursues perfection with a sports car with a five-liter V-8 producing 471 horses that propels it to 60 mph from a standstill in 4.4 seconds, I take notice.
I also notice that Cadillac's Corvette-based XLR flopped and Lincoln never bothered producing a premium sports car of this caliber.
Game, set, match. Detroit has been checkmated.
