I went for an interview downtown and it ended at lunch time. I stopped in the mall and bought a cup of tea, a muffin and I had a pear in my purse. I thought it would make a fine lunch. As I was leaving, I saw all the business people dressed up like me and then I saw a man so thin a breeze could blow him over. He was dirty, not begging, just waiting by the trash for people to throw away their left over lunch. Everyone ignored him. I walked up to him and gave him my lunch and he just looked at me in wonder. The other business people were looking at me like I was nuts. One of them had a sandwich untouched and started to throw it away. I looked at him and told him to give it to that man. Don't let him debase himself by digging in the trash. He still started to throw away the food, but I grabbed it and gave it to the man. How can you ignore a unique human being? It could be you someday...
From a few days ago. I was going through my hardships and trying hard to stay positive, when I got this in a fortune cookie.
I'm not gonna get preachy, you already know what you believe. And I know this worked.
I made rent, paid my newly instated renters insurance (-_-) like it was nothing, and have no troubles. Everything is perfect, and always was. I just needed to remember that, and this picture will always remind me ;)
