In 1587, Raymond Phélypeaux d'Herbault had a first hotel built.

On June 22, 1769, Alexandre-Jean Boula de Mareüil, Advocate General in the Court of Aid of Paris, acquired the Hôtel de Fieubet from Elisabeth Roussel, widow of the farmer general Dedelay de La Garde.

In 1676, the hotel was acquired by the Chancellor of Queen Marie-Thérèse, Gaspard Fieubet. He had it renovated and decorated by Le Sueur and Vicotte according to plans by Jules Hardouin-Mansart. The work was completed in 1681.

On June 22, 1769, Alexandre-Jean Boula de Mareüil, Advocate General in the Court of Aid of Paris, acquired the Hôtel de Fieubet from Elisabeth Roussel, widow of the farmer general Dedelay de La Garde. The hotel remained in the property of the Boula family until 1816.

In 1816 the hotel was used as a sugar refinery.

In 1857, it was bought by the Comte de Lavalette, who had it transformed by Jules Gros in an Italian-Spanish neo-baroque style, in particular for the facades on the street and on the courtyard.

Since 1877, the Massillon school has been located there.

Hercule didn't seem to have a grasp on the severity of the situation. There was an army of Lotii *somewhere* out here, and yet he kept blabbering on about the latest vintages back home.

"...Of course the claret in the Lavoye this year has suffered terribly from the inclement weather. All this hot and cold is terrible for the vine. It is possible that it will mature passably, but in my opinion they would be better to give it up as vinegar and save the cellar space for cheese instead.

"Now, as for your colonial wines, even you must concede they are second-rate. Take, for example, this stuff coming out of Lavalette, or whatever it's called-"

"Brother, have you spoken to the scouts recently?" snapped the Bishop, eager to interrupt his flow.

"I... no?" he asked, as if it was unthinkable.

"Don't you think you had better?"

"Who do you want me to talk with, Jules?" He scoffed. "The killer nuns, or the local savages?" The Bishop sighed inwardly.

"Talk to the Tyree'dee, Hercule. They know this land, and they move faster than we can."

"A filthy native? No thankyou, brother. If it's so important to you, you talk to them." The Général trotted on, while the clergyman uttered a short prayer to Hades in dismay.

"You there!" he snapped at a tribesman he recognised. "How is our route? Any sign of the enemy?" He prayed that the man understood him.

"Enemy far. Route good. Some water, trees. No problem."

He would have to send the pioneers ahead. Or persuade his brother to do so. Easier said than done. Now all the military hierarchy was in place, *The Général* found it all to easy to ignore advice from a mere representative of The Order.

He looked back over the column of troops. Would they be enough? Only time would tell.

#E-2000

This was a test shot tbh. When we got to this staircase the sun was behind cloud, and so I put a bare AD200 outside on the flat roof with a warming gel on it to provide some rays of light through the leaded window. However, for this shot, Nicole's face was always in shadow no matter what I did with the height of my "sun". Then the actual sun came out and I abandoned using the AD200 - mainly as when used together, it created massive hotpots on the white dress. There are ways to solve this on-set but we were on the clock :) It's always about priorities!

However, the light cast by the flash on the wall, looked much better than the real sunlight patches, and I noticed later on that whilst Nicole's face was dark, there was quite a bit of contrast and definition from the residual softer window light on it. I used Lightroom's amazing making tools to bring up and colour the light on her face to match the light from the flash on the walls and dress.

La Valette, joyau architectural médiéval classé au patrimoine mondial de l'humanité et superbe ville située sur l'ile de Malte en méditerranée

Valletta, Malta’s capital and a World Heritage site, is nothing short of an open-air museum. It is a living experience of Baroque architecture, a monument donated by the Knights of St John nearly five centuries ago.

I had placed an AD200 with a warming gel out on the roof outside the window to generate some "sun", but then the real sun showed up :)

2 shot 32-bit DNG (3 stops apart) merged and treated entirely in Lightroom.

The dark shot would have worked on it's own, however merging in a bright frame means less noise in the darker areas.
