Der Eremit, der in jahrzehntelanger Arbeit den Wald in eine heilige Stätte nach seinen eigenen Vorstellungen verwandelt hat, ist letztes Jahr gestorben, wenige Monate bevor ich am 28.12.2020 diese Aufnahmen gemacht habe.
The hermit had worked decades to transform the forest into a holy place of his own imagination. He died last year, a few months before i took these pictures on December 28th, 2020.
{Vi si scoprono palazzi e chiese, chiusi nel ghirigoro della città medievale, o svettanti fuori di essa, come il famoso Duomo di marmo bianco e nero in cima ad uno dei tre colli. La visita ai tesori d’arte, il pergamo di Niccolò Pisano nel Duomo, o il fonte battesimale di Jacopo della Quercia, o gli affreschi di Simone Martini e di Ambrogio Lorenzetti nel palazzo del Comune, o gli avanzi della Fonte Gaia, o la Libreria Piccolomini con gli ameni racconti murali del Pinturicchio, o la Maestà di Duccio di Boninsegna, forse la più illustre delle nostre pitture su tavola, per citarne soltanto alcuni, fa parte delle avventure di Siena.
