While making my way to see the new superman film, 'Man of Steel' (awesome film!!!), just for a giggle and in the sprit of the Last Son of Krypton…I decided to take a picture in one of London's famous Red Phone Boxes…When I got home I noticed that there was a lot of reflections in the glass…

I was not happy with this, so what started just as a laugh got serious…me and a friend drove around looking a suitable phone box, near where we live so we would not have to venture in to central London. When we found one not only did it stink but one of the glasses had been smashed out…which worked out well as I could place the Superman logo (still can not believe it is one of the most recognizable symbols on the planet!!!) in the middle.

I did not want to get reflections on the outside again so I was going to use a flash gun to light the box up from inside, but flash gun was not working, so I used a torch just to light the front part of the box and Superman Logo.

Increased the contrast and saturation in the picture and added a little bit of vignetting in LR and then slightly used the burn tool to darken a few small spots.

Before anyone says either, yes it is the Superman Returns Logo…I did not like the film but did like the logo on my t-shirt…lol

This image is comprised of 9 layers of flames (provided by a bic lighter and a bottle of cologne) one superman toy from wally world, a full moon, and a night shot of Kansas City, Missouri. All of these were shot over the last few months just to make this image for my Superman Set.
