One of around 280 taken with Nat yesterday whilst trying to get to grips with off-camera flash.

I've posted this photo before, but only in the lousy quality you get when scanning negatives with a low-budget scanner. So this is the same photo developed on 18x24 cm PE-paper and then scanned with my All-In-One HP printer. There is such a striking difference between the two pictures. See it for yourself:

I wonder if the owner is a decendant of an Ancient Roman family who made this kind of equipment back then.
Winter weather lashing this poor tree as it sits looking out over the River from its once fortified vantage point.
The elements were against me on this particular day, but the persistent rain produced a misty feel, which I emphasised through a little in camera ICM.
The subject matter was already pretty devoid of colour, so it was in keeping with the feel of the overall image that its final palette should make full use of the greys scales.

Yep, count 'em. Seventeen.
My previous record was twelve...
I can only assume that there is a bit of an imbalance of power somewhere in the west, there's an awful lot of units heading that way at the moment. Obviously not all were on line, but if they were, that's somewhere in the region of 75000 horses right there.
If ever there was a picture that encapsulates why I'm far more into the US scene than that of the UK, well this is probably it.
