A break in the rain and a glimpse of sun at Euxton allowed me to catch a late running Crewe to Carlisle engine move. The 10 loco lash up consisted of all class66's led by 66536 and followed by 552,527,564,563,525,953,509,597, and bringing up the rear was 66514.

I'm not a fan of those huge spider lashes that seem to be the trend these days. However, this African Wood Owl was captivating. Equipped with 2 sets too to flutter away provocatively ;)

It's the first day of Fall as the Longmont Switch led by BNSF SD40-2 No. 1600 races south between Loveland and Fort Collins, Colorado on September 23, 2015. A colorful lash up makes up the train that includes an assortment of both lease and fallen flag schemes.
This happened not long after the previous photo, the clouds appeared to be emanating from the mountain.
I've been seeing alot of my contacts doing these amazing eye pics, starting with Tapper's gorgeous eye shot of Tara so I've been inspired to do one too. I haven't done one in like a year and my last one was with my point and shoot! LOL
I wear colored contacts but this is my natural eye color - whatever you want to call it - Green - yellow - orange - brown. Whatev!

Have you ever seen a Magpie's eye up close? By gum they have some eyelashes on their eyelids! My question is, how do they apply mascara with their eyes closed!?
Not sure this corvid was so well :( It allowed me to get very close with the 105 on. However, it did manage to fly off after a few minutes...

I've posted this photo before, but only in the lousy quality you get when scanning negatives with a low-budget scanner. So this is the same photo developed on 18x24 cm PE-paper and then scanned with my All-In-One HP printer. There is such a striking difference between the two pictures. See it for yourself:

Winter weather lashing this poor tree as it sits looking out over the River from its once fortified vantage point.
The elements were against me on this particular day, but the persistent rain produced a misty feel, which I emphasised through a little in camera ICM.
The subject matter was already pretty devoid of colour, so it was in keeping with the feel of the overall image that its final palette should make full use of the greys scales.
