A bull crosses Echeta Road as a pair of Burlington Northern SD40-2s hustle an eastbound “Z’ train past milepost 627 through Croton, Wyoming, on the morning of June 14, 1997. Croton is located between the sidings of Lariat and Echeta on the BNSF’s Big Horn Subdivision west of Gillette.

Least Sandpipers practice rope tricks with marine worms on Horsepen Bayou. These peeps seem to make a pretty decent living here when the conditions are ripe, i.e. low tides, shallows, and exposed mudflats.

On Father's Day of 2015, a recreation of the famous California Zephyr traveled roundtrip from Oakland to Portola. The train consisted of four stainless steal rail cars, three of which were domes (Silver Solarium, Silver Smith, Silver Lariat, and Silver Splendor). Above, you see this special train crossing one of the classic views of the Feather River Canyon, the trestle at Rock Creek. Nothing like seeing silver passenger cars traverse the Feather River Route.

Yes,it DOES look like a 3/4 sized F-150, which MIGHT be its' downfall......... I THINK BUYERS were looking for IDENITY here.
I really mused over this wall mural, I still do when I look at the image....:-)

This is Lariat Loop Road, which ascends several hundreds of feet above Golden, a western suburb of Denver. Constructed 98 years ago, motorists and cyclists alike have taken this road to reach the peak of Lookout Mountain along the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains.
New photos of Denver are now available on my official website in the “LATEST HITS” section.

Silver Lariat, Rapids, and Solarium bring up the rear of the Zephyr this day. The cars are on familiar DRGW rails.
Great view of the way the town just to the west of the entrance to Yellowstone National Park used to look. From what I can see by looking at Google there isn't a building in this photo that is still standing. Lot's of nice 1940's and 1950's cars (most Chevrolet and Ford models - station wagons!) and some very nice gas stations and motels. I would love to stay in this town when it looked like this.
The signs are fantastic. I'll list what I'm able to read.
Left side of the street:
Texaco
Tackle Shop
Lariat Bar?
Meats Groceries
IGA Grocery Store
?? Cafe
76 Gas Station
Right side of street:
Chevron

Unfortunately these chrome postcards are tough to view when enlarged or while looking through a loupe.
