Val di Genova - Upper Lares waterfall 20190620
Cascata Lares is the most impressive waterfall in Val Genova, The river Rio Lares thunders down over 350 meters creating a spectacle in the last part before the river joins Sarca di Genova.
Have a nice day; stay safe.
*********************************
The Lares were lesser deities than the great gods venerated in the official cult, but in reality highly venerated in the context of Roman houses. The Lares (from the Latin lares, "hearth", from the Etruscan lar, "father") represent the protective spirits of the ancestors who watched and protected the gens and the familia.
They are the protective deities of the "familia", of each specific family.

Cuncani is a community of 71 families living at 3,800m (12,467 feet), in the Peruvian Andes. Camping here funds investment in social projects involving health, education, and nutrition, and infrastructure improvements to water and electricity. It's also where you sleep before the hardest day of the Lares Trek - over the Sicllaccasa Mountain pass, one vertical kilometre from here. Quechua (the indigenous Andean language) is the families' mother tongue - despite the communication barrier, local kids will still come out to greet you. And yes, I did hand over my last chocolate bar.
I have been trying to get Ross (my son) to join flickr for awhile now but he prefers to pursue a more exciting hobby like the pub :) but this time under some serious persuasion like me standing on him and posting a couple of his photos here, he relented and joined.. LOL.
More of Ross's adventure images while in Peru can be viewed here:
