A Lap Quilt I designed in memorial of our Triplet babies we lost (Aaron, Bethany, & Charlotte) in honor of Mother's Day. This used "Fresh Flowers" charm squares, Jelly roll strips and yardage as well as solid Red for sashing, binding and backing fabrics. I made up a Flowery FMQ stitch that is done over the whole quilt. This is a picture of the front siting on a lounging chair.

Dementia patients, or even just very old frail folk stuck indoors/in bed, can have an interactive tactile mini lap-garden! Something to keep hands busy, and memories & conversation alive. Quilted and strongly sewn. And these upcycle and repurpose lots of waste!!
I really can't get enough of the seaside, and the water's edge in particular. I love the textural effect of water on sand, and the colours it creates, but even more so I love the transience of that particular spot... no matter how long you look nothing is ever the same, and no matter how permanent a structure might appear, eventually it will be worn away to nothing, recycled in the cosmic merry-go-round...
