The Lotus flower is regarded in many different cultures, especially in eastern religions, as a symbol of purity, enlightenment, self-regeneration and rebirth. Its characteristics are a perfect analogy for the human condition: even when its roots are in the dirtiest waters, the Lotus produces the most beautiful flower.

Wat Manorom is a major Buddhist temple and monastery in Luang Prabang, Laos.
There are several theories as to the date of its founding; it may have been founded in 1372 or 1375 by Samsenthai, but it may also date from the reign of Laasaenthai Bouvanaat around 1492.
Sustainable elephant practices in Northern Laos prioritize ethical tourism, conservation, and community engagement. Sanctuaries and camps provide elephants with natural habitats, promote positive human-elephant interactions, and offer educational programs to raise awareness about conservation. Responsible tourism practices ensure elephants' well-being and dignity, prohibiting harmful activities like riding or performing tricks. Local communities are involved in conservation efforts, supporting sustainable tourism and protecting elephant habitats.
