High pressure can bring with temperature inversions and MWIS had the word "CLOUD INVERSION" splashed across the Pennines. Sometimes these are known to stick around, so I took my chance and headed over after finishing my early shift at work.
By the time I got there all that remained was a haze and some slightly thicker mist/fog along the course of the River Noe. I took the opportunity to explore a new route for me up onto Kinder Scout, the beautiful Ollerbrook Clough.
The trail soon joined up with familiar ground for me and I spent a good amount of time clambering around and studying Ringing Roger in greater detail. This tor has some beautifully layered rock, in which you can see where successive lava layers were deposited and cooled.
Just around this time, the light started to kick off, which was rather fortunate for me being at this spot. I consider this one a record-shot of a work in progress, this location definitely favours morning light and I could have done with shooting wider and possibly in landscape.
All things considered, I do still really like this photograph, most likely because it represents a "and brrreeeeath out" moment of the day for me.
Multnomah Falls at 602ft is the tallest of Oregon's many waterfalls - so tall that I couldn't get both ends in the photo!

Lake Ellesmere is one of those places I go to when I want to think and observe the changes in the light. One moment, it could be calm and beautiful, and the next moment, it's reflecting storm clouds above it. It's the most beautiful lake, with a hidden history. On one side, the brown Port Hills, and on the other, the sea extends to the south to Canterbury Plains. There is an intimacy to Lake Ellesmere that reminds me of much smaller places where you can sit, reflect, see the colours, and feel the presence of the water.

Hurricane Ida has left and the bay is calming down, YAY!

One thing I love about camping is exploring new trails and Meaher State Park in Alabama did not disappoint. while on my morning walk exploring the park, I came across the boardwalk along Canecutter Trail and just couldn't resist spending some extra time just sitting and enjoying the moment.
