The sun had finally shown itself frankly. So, I couldn't resist taking again the Amphitrite fountain on Place Stanislas, as it was so beautiful under the sun.
This is also an opportunity to share with you the beauty of its remarkable portico with fine gold gilded railings, a masterpiece by Lorrain ironworker Jean Lamour. Like the triumphal arch of Héré, this portico is to the glory of King Louis XV.

Le soleil s'était enfin montré franchement. Aussi, je n'ai pas pu résister à reprendre la fontaine d'Amphitrite sur la place Stanislas, parce qu'elle était si belle sous le soleil.

Les grilles réalisées par Jean Lamour, serrurier de Stanislas, sont au nombre de six. Outre les arcs au-dessus des fontaines, elles forment des sortes de portes flamandes à droite et à gauche de l'hôtel de ville et de simples panneaux entre les pavillons bordant les rues Stanislas et Sainte-Catherine. Elles valent à Nancy le surnom de « Ville aux Portes d'Or »..

Dorothy Lamour was an American actress and singer. She is best remembered for having appeared in the Road to... movies, a series of successful comedies starring Bing Crosby and Bob Hope. The Jungle Princess (1936) was a big hit for the studio and Lamour would be associated with sarongs for the rest of her career.

Had an utterly marvellous time at Village at War Weekend. Stoke Bruerne, Towcester, Northamptonshire, just by the The Canal Museum. Such an idyllic place. So many folks in vintage attire, countless amazing narrow boats lined the canal. Re-enactments, stalls, vintage vehicles, memorabilia, wartime songs and so much more! The sun was out, perfect day :)
