In the L.A. Live Plaza which is a public entertainment-type plaza adjacent to the Crypto.com Arena in Downtown Los Angeles California is a very sweet and touching sculpture that is a tribute to basketball franchise Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna who tragically perished in a helicopter accident in January of 2020. Kobe was 41 and Gianna 13 in a tragedy that rang around the world. It is important to also remember the others that perished in that crash, John Altobelli, his wife Keri, their 14 year old daughter Alyssa, Sara Chester & her 13 year old daughter Payton, Christina Mauser and pilot Ara Zobayan. Having lost my son Alexander in an automobile accident in 2022, I believe it’s moral, humane and proper to remember those who perish by name as these unfortunate souls were not simply statistics, they were real persons who were part of peoples lives

I met Stacy downtown LA during his lunchbreak. He was actually talking on the phone when I approached him but I couldn't tell because of his long hair and small phone. Stacy was so polite when I rudely interrupted him and I waited a minute for him to finish up his call. He asked me how he should pose and I told him to be relaxed just like I found him. Stacy is a retail manager at the L.A. Live entertainment complex in Downtown Los Angeles.

NOTE:
-A simple long exposure. I will re-take this shot with proper tripod, wider angle and cable release. I was in a hurry because I was running late for a party. :)
-More photos will follow.
The Moroccan-themed 'Hotel Fig' at Olympic & Figueroa in Downtown Los Angeles opened 1926 & was a YWCA until after the Great Depression. With Spanish Colonial lobby, & Persian decor throughout its 285 rooms, the 13-story, triple-towered Hotel Figueroa is a short walk from Staples Center and L.A. Live, and its new owners plan a complete restoration with an added modern flair. [#13 in album of 15]
along with approximately two thousand other angelenos, we all watched in awe as barack obama was sworn in as the 44th president of our united states. during the election, i stayed home watching the results and i realized that i wished i had gone somewhere and been around people during that event... so i made sure that for the inauguration, i would go out and celebrate in public. just being able to look into the faces of the people there and see their expressions and reactions is something that i will never forget. i still have chills as the moment happened, when history was made...
